They may say that the song "Winter Wonderland" was written about Central Park covered in snow, but we know better. Let's break it down and see what this song is really talking about.

"Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? In the lane snow is glistening." This line is clearly referring to the Door County Trolley, offering tours and tastings at a Door County winery, followed by a cozy sleigh ride through "The Doors" most wintry landscapes.

"Gone away, is the bluebird; here to stay, is a new bird. He sings a love song, as we go along." In Kewaunee County, Cabin Fever mid-winter festival is a night of socializing, food, drinks, entertainment and music. A new bird, a new year, a new celebration!

"In the meadow we can build a snowman, and pretend that he's a circus clown. We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman, till the other kiddies knock him down." Marinette County hosts as much winter fun as you can handle - photos with Santa, holiday craft making, cookie decorating, and horse drawn carriage rides.

With a large amount of regular snowfall, a frozen Lake Michigan (parts), and plenty of woods and trails, Wisconsin's Harbor Towns are a perfect winter destination offering ice fishing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, holiday light shows, parades, holiday markets, and so much more, all with a view.

"Later on we'll conspire as we dream by the fire to face, unafraid, the plans that we've made. Walking in a winter wonderland."

Sincerely,
Wisconsin Harbor Towns Association

MARINETTE

The Real North

Stephenson Island is located in the Menominee River within the boundary of Marinette, Wisconsin. It is named after Isaac Stephenson, a prominent politician and businessman in Marinette at the turn of the 20th century. The island is a city park and thus, uninhabited. US Highway 41 runs across it, which provides access to the park's pavilion, gazebo, playground, and picnic areas. There is also a footbridge to the island from the Marinette side of the river, adjacent to the Wisconsin Tourist Information building and the Stephenson Public Library. In homage to the city's logging past, there is a logging museum on the island. The island is a popular place for access to the Menominee River for sport fishing and launching recreational boats
