Here in Wisconsin, we don't do things like everyone else. We surf in the winter and snowmobile in the summer, we eat cheese curds with our beer, and we fry our brats; we do things our own way and it's what makes us a unique place to visit. So, if you love fun festivals, relaxing beaches, cheesy delicacies, artistic and historic downtown areas, visit us and see what Wisconsin is all about!

Time flies when you're having fun, and there is still plenty of summer left to discover what Wisconsin's Harbor Towns have to offer!

Sincerely,
Wisconsin Harbor Towns Association
ASHLAND
Follow the Mural Brick Road
From Butternut in the south to Madeline Island in the north, Ashland County's over two dozen eye-catching murals dazzle visitors all year long.  Starting in September, you can once again play

Follow the Mural Brick Road on paper or by using your smartphone.  Part trivia quiz - part treasure hunt, participants answer questions about the colorful murals for the chance to win cash prizes.  Last year's questions included such items as how many lumberjacks were holding an axe in one mural and how many red peppers could be seen in a basket in another.  To learn more, visit www.muralbrickroad.com.

MANITOWOC
Coast the Coast

Our events are exceptional and our attractions are unique! An 1870's Village Fair, Balloons on the Lakeshore on a warm summer evening, and Sputnikfest, celebrating alien life forms and falling space debris, are just some of the fun events in Manitowoc this summer. Stay on the coastline to enjoy great attractions like the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, home of the U.S.S. Cobia Submarine, or visit the Rahr-West Art Museum, one of the top small town museums in America according to USA Today (2010) and Travel and Leisure Magazine (2014). Coast for a while in Manitowoc and discover fun!

Snowmobile in Summer

Summer is in full swing on the far western tip of Lake Superior! In addition to all of the great recreational opportunities that summer brings - kayaking, boating, sightseeing, and beach walks, just to name a few - there are also some great summer events happening right on Lake Superior's shore!

First up on Barker's Island in Superior is the Superior Watercross Shootout, August 16-17. Two adrenaline pumping days of snowmobile racing on the water! The following weekend, August 22-23, is the annual Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival. Check out the exciting dragon boat races, food, entertainment, and more.
