APRIL|2014
Greetings!

As you come out of hibernation, take in the new season. The birds are chirping, the ice is melting and you can see the grass! It's time to break out the picnic tables, bikes and walking shoes folks, it's spring!

While it may not seem like spring here in Wisconsin, it is trying to peek its head out, and our Harbor Towns are doing their best to raise spirits and get you outdoors. Explore walking and biking trails, gardens, downtowns, shops, and as festivals begin to pop up, add them to your calendar.

See you soon!

Happy Spring!

Sincerely,
Wisconsin Harbor Towns Association

MILWAUKEE

City of Festivals
The spectacular "wings" of the lakeside Milwaukee Art Museum, along with neighboring Discovery World and the schooner
Denis Sullivan, welcome all to Milwaukee. Known as the "City of Festivals," Milwaukee rocks the lakeshore with a parade of ethnic and music festivals all summer long. Raise a stein of bier at German Fest, polka at Polish Fest, enjoy the colorful parades at Festa Italiana or rock out at Summerfest, the world's largest music festival with more than 800 bands in 11 days. Boat docks are available with easy access to the 75-acre festival park, and come nightfall, watch the dazzling fireworks displays from the water.

STURGEON BAY

Every season offers you another reason to visit.

In springtime, Sturgeon Bay's landscape comes alive with thousands of colorful blossoms including cherry trees, daffodils, trillium, lady slippers and more. You can also experience some of our rich cultural history by exploring our maritime and historical  museum, touring the working shipyards this first weekend of May  and our lighthouses throughout the season.  The Lighthouse Walk is June 13-15th

Spring also signifies trophy fishing time in Sturgeon Bay, Door County with huge walleyes roaming the shallow waters making this area one of the mid-west's best locations!  A unique feature of Sturgeon Bay is that you can fish the waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan without ever leaving your boat.   Fishing not your thing, no problem.   We also have plenty of other water sports like stand-up paddle boarding, boating, kayaking,  jet skiing and so much more.    When all else fails, there is fantastic shopping in our 3 distinct shopping districts.
