Happy New Year! As we usher in 2013, Wisconsin Harbor Towns wishes you a joyful and FUN year ahead! The newness of the year brings unlimited opportunities to set goals, create "bucket lists" and just make the most of these next 12 months. And we've got plenty of destinations along our Lake Michigan and Lake Superior shores ready and waiting to help make 2013 your most memorable year yet. Cabin fever starting to set in? Get out and get moving in the Kenosha Area, where the winter season offers so much to do, no matter what Mother Nature brings! If the great outdoors is calling to you, Kenosha's answer is Wilmot Mountain Ski & Snowboard Area. Celebrating 75 years in business this year, you can count on an exceptional ski, snowboard and tubing experience.

 

Sprawling nature areas also abound - including Richard Bong State Recreation Area and Bristol Woods Park - offering miles of pristine, peaceful trails perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and soaking up winter's natural beauty.

Mont du Lac Recreation for exhilarating downhill skiing, snowboarding and snow-tubing.  Enjoy the solitude of our state forest and state parks while you cross-country ski, snowshoe or winter camp.  Get revved up about 325+ miles of snowmobile or winter ATV/UTV trails.  Glide along 86K of groomed classic and freestyle cross-country ski trails.  Make tracks and snowshoe. Bundle up for some ice fishing fun.  Hit the trail in the Superior Municipal Forest where skiing has gone to the dogs, try skijoring.  Come to the frozen shores off Barker's Island for some fast-paced hockey the way it was meant to be played at the Great Lakes Pond Hockey Classic.

Bundle up and get out there for Wisconsin's first-ever Winter Free Fishing Weekend, January 19-20, 2013! 
Free Fishing Weekend events provide great opportunities for people of all ages to give fishing a try. Fish anywhere in Wisconsin without a license or trout stamp on Free Fishing Weekend. This includes all inland waters and Wisconsin's side of the Great Lakes and Mississippi River. (Other fishing rules apply, such as limits on the number and size of fish you can keep and any seasons when you must release certain fish species.)
