December, 2014
Leading up to the holidays can be an exciting but stressful time.

Keep your perspective; holidays are an opportunity to be with family and friends.  Aim for progress, not perfection.

Are Mistakes All Bad?

Conventional wisdom tells us that mistakes are bad.

Here are some common beliefs about mistakes:

1.  They cost us time and money.

2.  They occur due to carelessness.

3.  They reduce confidence.

While this is sometimes the case, mistakes can also provide learning opportunities and result in new products and better systems.

Corporate Culture often dictates our response to mistakes.  But when it comes to the things over which we have control, we often judge ourselves too harshly.

It's Not What You Read

Overwhelmed by the stack of reading next to your bed?Feeling guilty about magazine subscriptions and emails that go unread?

Sometimes, it's not what we choose to read, but rather, what we intentionally decide to ignore.  In today's digital age, we have access to unlimited quantities of information.  If you are the type of person who is research-oriented, loves knowledge and information and reads a ton, this can create the feeling that you are always behind.

Not everything is worth reading.  If you don't have time for the magazines you used to love, unsubscribe.  Be selective about RSS feeds, blogs, newsletters and periodicals - choose those that add the greatest value.  Get rid of the rest.
