The Last 10 minutes of Your Day

One of the best ways to save time is to spend the last 10 minutes of your day planning for the next day.

Appointments

Start by making sure all commitments and appointments are in your calendar

To-Dos

Look at your list of tasks and prioritize what must get done.  Schedule time in your day for these tasks being sure to leave a little extra time.

Flexibility

Recognize that overnight, priorities can change, requiring you to adjust your day.  View it as a detour on your road to success; not a derailment.

Impulse Buys

When shopping, it is easy to get caught in a web of sales, promotions and "must-have" items.

How can you avoid the impulse to overbuy?

Wait

When tempted to purchase items not on your list, the feeling will often pass with time.  If you're in a mall, try coming back in 30 minutes and see if you are still inclined to make the purchase.

Get Out Fast

Going to the mall?  Decide where you want to go ahead of time and create an exit plan (like an appointment that requires you to leave the mall instead of walking around.)

Retailers are experts at getting us to buy things. Resisting the temptation will save you money, and reduce the clutter in your home.
