October  2013
The academic year has begun and with the cooler weather, we find ourselves spending more time indoors.

This is a great time to de-clutter areas in your home that typically remain untouched.

Sincerely,
Sharon F. Danzger

Simplicity, simplicity,

Kids:  Make Your Bed
Bed

From the age of three, children are capable of making their own bed.

If you want to encourage independence and responsibility, this is a great place to start.

Here are some useful tips:

1.  Buy bedding that makes the task easier.  A comforter without a top sheet is the easiest.

2.  Avoid using lots of pillows when the kids are young; it just makes the job tougher.

3.  Make the bed with your child a few times.  Be sure to point out step by step instructions.

4.  Never re-make the bed.  This sends a message that the job was not good enough and will discourage your child from wanting to do it on his/her own again.

When the job is well done, be sure to give plenty of praise.  Kids love positive feedback.

Time:  Simplify Your Life
Simplify

There never seems to be enough time to do everything.

Some ways to simplify:

Milk:  There are many farms that provide free delivery of fresh milk.  It may be slightly more expensive, but it saves trips to the market just to buy milk.

Dry Cleaning:  Check your local yellow pages for pick-up and delivery services.  Many cleaners charge competitive prices and will come once or twice a week at no additional charge.

Groceries:  Most grocery purchases are the same each week.  FreshDirect, ShopRite, Stop & Shop and other chains provide on-line shopping and delivery services for a small fee.

The less time you spend on errands, the more time you have for the things you enjoy!

Home & Office:  Why We Avoid Goal Setting
Goal Setting

Studies prove that there is a connection between goal setting and success.

So what's stopping us?

1. We feel that specifying goals is a time waster.

2. We are not sure how to set our goals.

3. We are afraid to fail or be rejected.

Studies also show that failure is sometimes necessary for success.  So why not take the leap and set some goals?
