Kids: Clearing the Table

You've made dinner, it's the end of a long day and the table is a mess. Got kids? They can help!
1. By age four, a child can carry dishes to the sink. Have him/her make two trips to bring the silverware and cups as well.
2. By age six, expect the child to scrape the plate into the trash or sink.
3. By age eight, a child can put the dishes in the dishwasher.
4. For very young children, consider using plastic dishes that don't break so they can also participate in the clean-up fun!
Don't feel like you have to do it all yourself. Having children is like having your own little army of helpers.... a little training can go a long way!

Time: Be A Time Pessimist
Are you always running late? Maybe the cause is poor planning.
Penelope Trunk suggests being a "Time Pessimist."
"Assume everything will take a little longer than your first estimate. This will either make you right on time for everything, or it'll make you a little early. People who run early are calm, organized, and always ready. Not a bad place to be."

Home & Office: What's In Your Garage?
Garages aren't just for cars.
Even in harsh climates, people often use their garage to store everything but their car.
Why? It's certainly easier and less expensive than a storage unit.
A full garage represents delayed decisions (like stacks of paper, only these are stacks of things.)
Think about what you have stored in your garage. If you haven't used the contents in years, it's time to part ways.
When winter returns, you'll be thrilled to get to your car without enduring the elements.
