Jojoba is obtained from the Jojoba plant, which is an evergreen that grows in hot places such as Arizona. The oil comes from the seed stock.

This oil is not a true oil. It is more of a liquid wax. Jojoba contains protein, minerals, plant wax and myristic acid. It is pure, hypoallergenic and is not a nut-based oil. Jojoba's structure is very similar to our own skin's natural sebum making it excellent for all skin types. It is easily absorbed and has a softening effect. Jojoba has good results when treating eczema and psoriasis and it is not too oily.

Being anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and non toxic makes Jojoba a great conditioner for your hair and body. By improving your own natural collagen, Jojoba will help stop those darn wrinkles that creep up on you as you get older. The shampoos, conditioners and skin moisturizers that you purchase from stores are usually packed with chemicals and harmful substances that I cannot even pronounce. These tend to dry out your skin and hair. Jojoba has a high quantity of ceramides which control the hydration needed for youthful, dewy skin.

Jojoba is very good for people with skin problems, for example, acne. Jojoba will open up the blocked pores and clean out the bacterial substance that creates the spots and blemishes. Used on a regular basis, Jojoba will help minimize the pore size and manage oil release.

 Summer is warming up in Australia and we were in for a lovely hot Christmas & New Year.  It's probably hard to imagine when in America you celebrate with a white Christmas & New Year in your Winter. 

 

It's been great to see some more additions to the "Newly Certified list of Aromatherapists" in recent newsletters and some of these names have been students from Australia.  I know of more students who are close to finishing their homework and preparing for their final exam, so more names will be added. This is a good time to continue with homework.  Or maybe your new year's resolution is to become certified in 2015?  Either way I encourage you to just keep chipping away at it.

 

Here are some more photos of the classes held in Brisbane and Melbourne from Linda Smith's recent visit.  I'm looking forward to seeing the smiling faces of these students again in the next 303 class coming just after Easter in 2015.  Just remember, students, you can sit this class and then the new 404 Energy Healing Intensive class as well!  We had great feedback from this new class, it pulls together everything you learn in the CCA program and adds a greater depth of energy healing for your practice, or in my case, prepares me to step up to becoming a practitioner.  I really enjoyed being a student in this class and learning Healing Touch in more detail & enhanced with essential oils, just a perfect combination.
