UNITED STATES(FORT LAUDERDALE)UPDATE: Significant flight disruptions are expected at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Fort Lauderdale, in the US, on 29 October after a passenger plane caught ablaze. Flight 405, operated by Dynamic International Airways and due to depart for Venezuela, was taxiing on the runway when fuel leaking from the aircraft caught alight. The fire has since been extinguished and the plane was evacuated. Some reports of injuries have been received. Emergency services are on the scene. While airport authorities are likely to implement contingency plans to minimise disruptions, it should be noted that once the runway has been cleared and normal services resume, flights will likely continue to be delayed due to the resultant backlog of scheduled services.

Persons scheduled to transit the airport for the remainder of 29 October should anticipate delays and are advised to contact their airline or travel provider to enquire about the status of their flight(s).

ATG is monitoring this event and will advise if any passengers may be affected.
