Last week, I visited Washington, D.C., with my family.

As we toured the impressive monuments of our country's leaders, I felt deep gratitude for their wisdom and vision. I was especially inspired by their memorable quotes immortalized in marble and mosaics.

These days, the quotes from politicians and presidential candidates that make headlines are often memorable for the wrong reasons.

That's why I hope you'll take a moment this week and ponder these quotes and how you can apply them to enrich your life.

  • Each morning, Benjamin Franklin would wake up and ask himself, "What good shall I do today?" He was soon inspired to perform an act of service. (Consider beginning your day with this simple question.)
  • Eleanor Roosevelt said, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." (Is there a toxic person in your life that needs to go?)
  • One of Thomas Jefferson's ten rules was, "We seldom repent of having eaten too little." (A good reminder, next time you're at a buffet!)
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase." (What first step have you been afraid to take?)
  • George Washington said, "It is better to be alone than in bad company." (That applies to personal relationships, as well as the company you may be working for.)
  • Abraham Lincoln said, "If I had eight hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend six hours sharpening my ax." (Do your research and preparation before you act.)
  • John F. Kennedy said, "Those who dare to fail miserably can achieve greatly." (Are you taking enough risks?)
  • Theodore Roosevelt said, "Believe you can and you're halfway there." (Never underestimate the power of positive thinking!)

What quote most resonates with you and how will you apply it? Share your wisdom on my Facebook Page or reply back to me. I love hearing from you!

Have You Heard What They're Saying?

"After Tricia presented 'CRAVE Your Goals!' at a Network of Executive Women event, I knew our team needed to hear her message. We are a busy, driven group of management consultants that spend most of the week on the road at our clients' offices. Tricia encouraged us to slow down for a moment and focus on what really matters, not only in our professional lives, but also in our personal lives. Since she spoke, I've heard my colleagues talk about letting go of unnecessary obligations, cleaning out clutter and creating vision boards that remind them of what they're working towards."

Reconnect, Reflect, Rejuvenate...You Deserve It!

If you're a woman who lives in the Atlanta area or can make a trip here, you're invited to join me for a special women's retreat on October 23 - 25 at the beautiful Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Between the heat of summer and the frantic demands of the holidays, there is no better time to take time for yourself. As the leaves turn, the nights get longer and the days get cooler, we get the opportunity to reflect on who we are and where we're going.

Walk through the woods. Meditate at the lake. Sit on your balcony as you write in your journal and take a moment to enjoy the beauty of an autumn sunset over the gardens.

No hustle. No bustle. Just a weekend for you to reconnect, reflect and rejuvenate in the beauty of nature and the company of other women there for the same reason.

I'll share the stage with a great group of women as I show you how to enjoy more balance in your life. It's the perfect way to prepare for your best year yet in 2016. I hope to see you there!
