Whenever I speak about work-life balance at companies and conferences, it always comes down to the same thing. It's about making conscious choices.

While we can't always control what work-life policies and programs our organizations have in place or if they enthusiastically follow through on them, we do control the choices we make.

As many of us are about to celebrate our independence, I challenge you to embrace your freedom of choice. To improve your work-life balance, you can choose to:

  • Resign from any unnecessary obligations that don't impact your work or family. Start with time-wasting, energy-zapping friendships you've outgrown or committees you've served on for years.
  • Control your technology. Turn off any unnecessary alert notifications, delete useless apps and charge your devices outside your bedroom.
  • Give the gift of attention. Vow to be fully present during client meetings, family dinners, playtime with your children, and when you're catching up with your spouse after a long day at work.
  • Plan for joy. Block out time on your schedule for play, physical activity and creative endeavors that energize and revitalize you. You deserve it!

What do you choose? Share your wisdom on my Facebook Page or reply back to me. I love hearing from you!

Have You Heard What They're Saying?

"The Greater Atlanta Association for Talent Development is made up of seasoned learning and performance improvement professionals so the bar is set high when we invite someone to speak at our meetings. Tricia Molloy exceeded our expectations.

"More than an inspiring speaker, Tricia is an expert facilitator who encouraged us to talk about what really matters and then clearly explained how we could get there. We were all taking a lot of notes. Her CRAVE process is simple, tangible and easy to follow. I've started writing in a gratitude journal and several others are creating vision boards. We know these steps will make a difference in our lives and in our work."

Brian Woman, VP of Programs

The Greater Atlanta Association for Talent Development (ATD)

Reconnect, Reflect, Rejuvenate...You Deserve It!

If you're a woman who lives in the Atlanta area or can make a trip here, you're invited to join me for a special women's retreat on October 23 - 25 at the beautiful Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Between the heat of summer and the frantic demands of the holidays, there is no better time to take time for yourself. As the leaves turn, the nights get longer and the days get cooler, we get the opportunity to reflect on who we are and where we're going.

Walk through the woods. Meditate at the lake. Sit on your balcony as you write in your journal and take a moment to enjoy the beauty of an autumn sunset over the gardens.

No hustle. No bustle. Just a weekend for you to reconnect, reflect and rejuvenate in the beauty of nature and the company of other women there for the same reason.

I'll share the stage with a great group of women as I show you how to enjoy more balance in your life. It's the perfect way to prepare for your best year yet in 2016. I hope to see you there!
