"What I do today is important,
because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever,
leaving in its place something that I have traded for it.
I want it to be gain not loss; good not evil;
success not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it. "
On Sunday, many of us will "lose" an hour as we do each year when we spring forward--thanks to Daylight Saving Time.
This annual practice always prompts me to reflect on how I spend and often waste my time. Stephen R. Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, advised, "The key is not in spending time, but in investing it."
So, how are you investing your time?
- Who are you spending your time with? Do they support your success or hold you back?
- What are you doing each day that can be done more efficiently? Think technology, processes and delegation.
- What clutter distracts you from what really matters? Clear the time-wasting physical, technical and emotional clutter that gets in the way.
- Are you filling all your hours with busyness? Block out some time each day for reflection, relaxation and recharging.
How are you investing your time? Share your wisdom on my Facebook Page or reply back to me. I love hearing from you!

What often keeps women from advancing in their organizations? Research shows they are not willing to take risks and stretch assignments, they lack confidence, and they perceive that they don't possess strong strategic thinking skills.
The Women Leaders Program on April 22 and 23 in Atlanta is designed to help women leaders advance in their organizations, grow in their leadership and confidence, and gain skills to help them overcome some of these barriers. It's presented by Turknett Leadership Group and Transformational Leadership.
