We asked some BCFM Farmers to explain why:
Jason and Erin, from Aspen Moon point out why starts from BCFM are so special:
"The soil the plant is started in is important. We use organic soil out of our own compost from the farm and we add a little bit of local topsoil in order to ease the transition for the plant to go from the pot into the dirt in your garden."

Anne from Cure Organic Farm states:
"First and foremost we are vegetable farmers. The veggie starts we
are offering at the Farmers' Market are the same varieties we grow ourselves in our fields. We are continuously trialing different varieties for flavor, nutritional constitution and compatibility for growing well in our bio-region. The starts we bring to Market are our favorite varieties; varieties that have proven themselves in our fields season after season. All of our vegetable and herb starts are
certified organic."
