NAIBA members will be guests of Hachette for the day at their offices in August. During the full day event, attendees will get the opportunity to share ideas and issues with everyone from accountants to editors, and hobnob with Adult and Children's authors. You'll get an inside look at the inner workings of Hachette, complete with an tour of the offices. A dinner reception at an NYC location to follow.

 

NAIBA Fall "Discovery" Conference

This annual Fall gathering is two full days of bookseller education, networking, author events, and awards ceremonies. The publisher display tables are a highlight with their fall and winter picks of the lists. Reps are there to help you sell books using winning marketing tips, author appearances, and promotional products. Conference registration is FREE to NAIBA members. Publishers' sponsor event ticket packets for frontline booksellers, so register early to qualify. 

Highlights include: Tour of Politics & Prose; authors David Baldacci and Michelle Knudson; owner-workshops on accounting & finance, successful inventory & management; staff workshops on how to talk to children, disaster preparedness, and think like a publicist.

Meet Danette Vigilante!  

  

Danette Vigilante is a realistic fiction (middle grade) author who lives in Staten Island, New York. She is the author of Saving Baby Doe (Penguin Young Readers) and the 2012-2013 Sunshine State Young Readers Award nominee, The Trouble with Half a Moon (Penguin Young Readers).

 

Danette's presentation takes you on an inspirational journey starting with the words of her fifth grade teacher: "Danette needs help in reading." Encouraging others, Danette shares her struggles with self-doubt, rejection and the importance of persistence. Danette makes school visits and will present to any size audience.
