Hachette Open House for NAIBA Booksellers

10:00am - 4:00pm, followed by a tour, reception and dinner

We have been given a rare opportunity to spend a day in the Hachette NYC offices to talk business with their executives, discuss books with their editors, and socialize with their authors.

 

The day will begin with an Open Forum with sales & fulfillment, a chance to ask questions and discuss backroom issues. We will have a movable feast lunch with editors and hear about the upcoming books from the Fall 2014/Winter 2015 seasons and Spring/Summer 2015 lists.

 

Five Hachette authors will participate in an author panel in the afternoon, followed by a tour of the offices and a meet-and-greet reception with HBG authors and staff.

 

For those who can stay for the evening, Hachette will host a fabulous author dinner.

Publicity Speed Dating
Week of October 6, 2014

 

NAIBA has a new event in store for our members - a speed dating day with publicists.

 

While we work on the date and location, mark your calendars to take a day trip into NYC to meeting with publicists.  We are planning it for the either October 8, 9 or 10, depending on the final location.

 

Booksellers will get to meet one-on-one with publicists, talk about their store events, strengths, store focus, and wish lists. 

 

This event will be open ONLY to NAIBA member bookstores. There will be a small fee of $10 per person attending.

 

Seating will also be limited. Sign up now to be sure you have a chance to meet publicists and promote your store.
The two events we've scheduled (above) will give you a voice with publishers, get you noticed, and provide you with invaluable insight on how to work more effectively with publishers. Be sure you are there! Sign up now!
