Noted entrepreneur Guy Kawasaki used the word "enchantment" to describe the magical act of inspiring someone to believe in your cause ... your product ... you!
Think of all the ways you need to influence people to change their minds or actions. At work: gaining agreement on next steps for a key project, for example. Or at home: discussing how to best spend limited vacation time and dollars.
If you could use a refresher on ways to add motivational magic to your relationships -- professional and personal -- watch Kawasaki talk about enchantment, pick up his book, or ask to borrow ours.

A is for "Aware"
Becoming aware of what's going on around you is more important than ever in a culture that fractures our attention span with email, Facebook and Twitter. One way to achieve more awareness is to practice "mindfulness."
Apple, Google, Aetna and General Mills are among the companies that have implemented mindfulness programs for their employees to reduce stress. Want what they're having? Start with three simple tips:
- Don't think of red traffic lights as a delay; use that break to notice your breathing.
- Before you check your email or answer your phone, take one or two breaths.
- Throughout the day, pause to be fully present in the moment and choose to be purposeful before starting your next task.
