Dare Graphic

To dare is to lose one's footing momentarily. Not to dare is to lose oneself.

Soren Kierkegaard

Security is an illusion. Life is either a daring adventure or it is nothing at all.

Fortune sides with him
who dares.

Summer 2013

Do new opportunities excite you or make you uneasy? It can be hard to quiet that little voice in our heads that tells us that we can't possibly succeed this time. Thoughts like this can hold you back from taking the leap that propels you forward in your career, a relationship or even daily life.

A productivity consultant, Denis Waitley, noted that, "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not." So who do you think you are? For some fresh perspective on your personality, try this one-minute Jung Typology Test. Here's what the results mean.

   Kindle Paperwhite
If you've made the move to a Kindle reader or app, you know the beauty of instant book gratification. Need a good read NOW? Click! But did you know you can also borrow and loan Kindle ebooks among your friends? Just sign into your Amazon account, and under the "Your Account" tab, choose "Manage my Kindle." You'll see all the books you've purchased. Some of them (not all) can be loaned out. Click on "Actions," and if it says "Loan Title" then you can simply enter the email address of the person you want to loan it to. She or he will receive a message saying the book is available  to download for a limited period of time. Your friend will have 14 days to read it, and then the loan expires. Give it a try for some extra summer reading fun this year!

LinkedIn Tip: Explore Anonymously

If you'd like to review LinkedIn profiles and NOT let people know you were visiting, just change your privacy settings. When you're logged in to LinkedIn, mouse over your photo image at the top right, move down to "Account & Settings" and click "Privacy & Settings." In the Profile tab on the left side, look for "Privacy Controls." Click "Select what others see when you've viewed their profile." You can choose to share your name and headline, show up with anonymous profile characteristics (such as industry and title) or be completely anonymous. Here's an example:

Annual Reports

Once again we're honored to have collaborated with Peggy Lauritsen Design GroupJeremiah Program Annual Report Cover to write the annual report for Jeremiah Program. This nationally recognized nonprofit organization successfully transforms families from poverty to prosperity two generations at a time, by preparing determined single mothers to excel in the workforce, and readying their children to succeed in school.

We also helped propel the growing success of Sunshine Heart by writing the 2012 annual report. The company is focused on commercializing an innovative new minimally-invasive therapy for heart failure patients.
