Bright

If you paint in your mind a picture of bright and happy expectations, you put yourself into a condition conducive to your goal.

Norman Vincent Peale

Artistic temperament sometimes seems a battleground, a dark angel of destruction and a bright angel of creativity wrestling.

Madeleine L'Engle

In this bright future you can't forget your past.

Winter 2012

In January, High Point Creative begins its 25th year. Think of what wasn't available 25 years ago: The web as we know it. Smart phones. Words with Friends. Personal GPS. Social media. iAnything. Technology-wise, those were really the dark ages.

Much has changed in how we communicate, but our passion for marketing strategy and writing is as strong as ever. Thank you for being part of the High Point story so far. Here's to our bright future together.

Have you ever wanted to take a course from MIT or Harvard ... for free? Thanks to massive open online courses (MOOCs), now you can. Groups like Coursera, Udacity and edX allow you to participate in college-level courses anywhere, anytime via the web. Although you can't earn credit or get a degree this way yet, it's possible you may be able to in the future. Content Marketing: Big in 2012

More than 80% of the B2B marketers responding to a recent survey by Curata ranked content marketing as their most important marketing objective for the past year. Content marketing may include any content created and shared to tell an organization's story. Just 26% of the marketers named
print/TV/radio advertising as their most important marketing objective of the year.

Word Wise

2012 Word of the Year

Call us geeks, but this time of year we always await with great interest the Oxford American Dictionary's "Word of the Year" announcement. The 2012 winner: GIF. We were a little surprised, since it's a technical term that's been around for 25 years. It's an acronym for Graphic Interchange Format, a compressed image file format that can be used to create simple animations.

The folks at Oxford American Dictionary claim that in 2012 it "broke free of the bounds of being a mere noun, transcending into the territory of verbs." GIFing has gone viral, thanks in large part to wildly popular videos like the Korean dance hit, Gangnam Style. Click here to read more about the popularity of GIFing. And here's the hilarious video, in case you missed it or just need another dose of it.

American Medical Systems - Men's Health Newsletter

AMS Men's Health Notes Newsletter

November was Diabetes Awareness Month, and American Medical Systems (AMS) used its Men's Health Newsletter to share information about the connection between diabetes and erectile dysfunction -- as well as to highlight prostate cancer awareness initiatives like the "Movember" movement. High Point Creative regularly produces this quarterly publication for AMS. The audience is men who attended a seminar in their community to learn more about pelvic health disorders such as ED and urinary incontinence. See the full PDF.
