TTIA Joins Move Texas Forward Initiative |
The travel industry in Texas is affected by the state of our transportation infrastructure. Economic growth is good for our families, our communities and our state. But growth also strains our roads and other critical infrastructure as millions of visitors travel to Texas annually and more than 1,000 people move here each day. Without the proper investment, gridlock and roadway safety will worsen and our economy and quality of life will suffer.
Because transportation issues affect every one of our members, TTIA is supporting the Move Texas Forward initative. Move Texas Forward is committed to improving Texas' transportation infrastructure and keeping our roads capable of supporting our prosperous state.
Over the course of the next year, Move Texas Forward will advocate for the passage of a ballot measure in November 2014, that if passed by voters, will add $1.4 billion annually to road funding in Texas - without new tax revenue, without new debt and without new fees.
TTIA joins other statewide associations and organizations partnering with Move Texas Forward, including the Texas Association of Business, the Texas Economic Development Council, the Greater San Marcos Partnership, the Greater Irving Los Colinas Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and the Transportation Advocacy Group - Houston Region.

TTIA Members: Does Every Member of Your Team Have a Profile on TTIA.org? |
TTIA's website, ttia.org, offers our members a variety of "Member's Only" content - from our Advocacy Agenda to our Membership Directory. To access this Member's Only content, members must log in to the website.
Did you know that every staff member of a TTIA member organization is considered a member of TTIA? And every one of them is eligible for a profile on our website?
What does having a profile mean?
- Member's with profiles have access to Member's Only content and will receive Member's Only communications from TTIA.
- Networking and establishing relationships with others in the industry is as easy as a directory search.
- When a member logs in and registers for an event, the system will pre-populate many of the fields with that member's data.
Recently Margo Richards, Director,Travel Division, TxDOT had her entire staff create profiles on ttia.org. Here's what she had to say:
"Everything we do within our division touches the travel and tourism industry. Therefore, having profiles on TTIA.org will allow division staff (all 98) the opportunity for professional development and support from TTIA - which not only will benefit them professionally but also creates long lasting relationships with their industry peers."
So, how does someone get a profile on TTIA.org? Here are the steps:
- Visit ttia.org
- Click Register from the upper right hand side of the homepage
- Select TTIA Member and click Continue
- Select a Username (your email is best) and the Category that best describes your organization, click Continue
- Fill out the rest of the requested data
- Click Submit
TTIA will approve the profile as quickly as possible.
If you have questions about registering for a profile on TTIA's website, please contact Janice Langlinais at janicel@ttia.org.
