August is here and so are the people.  We have definitely noticed an increase in traffic as August is typically the busiest month of the year on the island.  There is so much to do this month, including the Grand Illumination, Agricultural Fair and the Oak Bluffs Fireworks.

We started off the week with a mini crisis.  I went to work on our website and found that the database was gone.  With the help of our new tech hero, Jared, we were able to get back online but not in time to send out a reminder announcement about the new collection of works by Island artist Marjorie Mason.  So we are featuring her in this newsletter.

Marjorie's opening on Thursday evening was well attended even with the mini storm that went through during the middle of the opening.  We lost power for a brief moment, but the lights came back on and we all continued to have a great time.

We hope you enjoy this newsletter and particularly the new works by Marjorie.

All the best!

VINEYARD LANDSCAPES

"I have greatly enjoyed taking the knowledge and experience of a lifetime of studio work outside with me when I paint. Plein Air painting is the ultimate challenge and also the most rewarding of painting experiences, with all of nature to decipher as it constantly unfolds in changing color and light. This close examination of our extraordinary Island landscape is nothing short of full immersion into beauty itself." - Marjorie Mason
