Get Outside to Support Parkinson's

Saturday, August 27 | 9:00am Cheesman Park | Denver J oin the 4th Annual Colorado Courage 5K Run to show your support for the nearly one million Americans who are living courageously with Parkinson's. Join John Jacquinot for his 4th Annual Redneck Ride for Parkinson's. This 24-mile bike ride through the foothills of Larimer County will raise awareness of Parkinson's disease and critical funds for Coloradans. All funds raised from this campaign will be designated to provide low-cost and/or scholarships for exercise and activity programs provided through the Parkinson Association. When We Were Kings Documentary Viewing

Join the Parkinson Association and the Denver Film Society for a showing of the 1996 documentary on Muhammad Ali during his 1974 heavyweight championship bout in Zaire. Tickets are $11 for non-members, $7 for members of the Denver Film Society.

Parkinson's Advocate in Research (PAIR) Learning Institute

Join the National Parkinson Disease Foundation (PDF) to become a Research Advocates and pair up with more than 500 research professionals and support groups to help bring about better treatments at a faster pace. To join this network, individuals must first attend an intensive three-day PAIR Learning Institute to learn about the science of Parkinson's and the process that brings new treatments to market; and to gain leadership and advocacy skills to confidently interact with the scientific community. A team of people with Parkinson's and support hikers will be setting foot on the Pacific Crest Trail, southbound from Stevens Pass to Snoqualmie Pass in Washington state, to raise awareness of Parkinson's and critical funds for programs and services which help those with Parkinson's live healthy and vibrant lives.
