On May 7th, at the Westin Westminster Conference Center, over 300 individuals braved the cold and rain to come together for the Colorado Community Conference on Parkinson's disease. The conference focused on research, medications and provided practical information for improving life with Parkinson's through seminars and panel discussions.

Participants walked away with a deeper understanding of breakthroughs in research. They also left feeling inspired to participate in clinical trials to help further the development of finding a cure for Parkinson's disease. Adding to the inspiration was Rick Schwartz' uplifting acceptance speech for the first ever Peaks of Leadership Award.

We are deeply grateful to our presenters, who donated their time and knowledge to provide our community with research updates and insight into clinical trials; and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research for leading a roundtable with updates on the pursuit of medical breakthroughs.

We also want to give special thanks to our day-of volunteers who ensured the conference ran smoothly. The Association could not have done it without you!

Thanks to our conference sponsors for making this educational opportunity available to our community.

Deepest Sympathies
It is with great sadness and our deepest sympathy that we must share with you the passing of Jan Humphreys on April 20th.

Jan was dedicated to learning all she could about Parkinson's disease and passing her knowledge on to others. Jan helped countless individuals in our Parkinson's community through her former position as the Education Director for the Parkinson Association. We remain forever grateful for her services; and our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. She will be missed by so many, but we know her passion for creating awareness and educating others will live on in those she touched.
