Parkinson's Awareness Month
April is Parkinson's disease Awareness Month and the Parkinson Association urges you to act now to bring awareness of Parkinson's to the community! With your help, we can and will make a difference. What can we do to raise awareness about Parkinson's disease? Here are some quick and simple ideas that can make a tremendous difference.
  1. Write/email a letter to the editor sharing your personal story about Parkinson's disease or link your personal story to a city issue.
  2. Ask your city mayor/council to pass a resolution declaring April as Parkinson's disease Awareness Month.
  3. Do you know someone in the media industry? A newspaper reporter, a TV anchor or a radio jockey? Let them know it is Parkinson's disease Awareness Month. Offer to share your story. Connect them to the Parkinson Association to learn more about the programs, services and community resources we provide.
  4. Participate in programs and events, like the ones listed below!
