2015: A Year of Growth

Thanks to All of You!
As another new year approaches, I sit with a cup of tea reflecting on 2015. Throughout the past year, the Parkinson Association of the Rockies has been blessed by the generosity and increased involvement of the Parkinson's community. As stewards of these gifts the Association has significantly increased programs and services.

Just over a year ago, we started the first Power Punch for Parkinson's non-contact boxing class. The community asked for more, and we now have six classes located in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs - with four more classes beginning in the first quarter of 2016! While the growth is impressive the true success comes from watching the boxers in these classes soar... emotionally and physically. Not only are those living with Parkinson's taking command of this disease through exercise, they are arming themselves with information and education - flocking to the Colorado Community Conference and E3 Conference: Educate*Empower*Energize at ever increasing rates; curious to discover and implement new ideas and tools for mastering life with Parkinson's.

Parkinson's awareness flourished through the largest participation in 13 years at the annual Vitality Walk and an unprecedented number of third party fundraisers; such as golf tournaments, runs, dinners and more. The funds raised from these events continue to fuel the growth of the Parkinson Association of the Rockies. Thank you all for your participation and contributions in these events which enable the Parkinson Association to remain on the forefront of providing these unique, cutting-edge programs and services.

Our pledge to you, the Parkinson's community, is to continue to listen to the community, to reach those living with Parkinson's we have yet to touch and to continue to provide quality programs and services. We are humbled and thankful to all of you - for you are the Parkinson Association of the Rockies.

Thank you!
Cheryl Siefert, MNM
