The Parkinson Association is pleased to announce that we have received generous support for the Global Community Conference on Parkinson's Disease: Beyond the Limits (GCC), that enables us to dramatically lower the registration fee to $275 per conference participant.

Stanley Fahn, M.D.of Columbia University, is literally one of the founding fathers of this profession. He founded the Movement Disorder Society and edited their journal for over a decade.

 

Joseph Jankovic, M.D., at Baylor, did his fellowship training with Dr. Fahn. He has been involved in hundreds of clinical trials for Parkinson's disease over the past 40 years and has authored over 800 articles.

 

Neuroscientist Dennis Selkoe, M.D., of Harvard University, has founded and directs two labs focused on the study of neurodegenerative diseases.

 

German researcher, Thomas Gasser M.D., is the Director of the Department of Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Tubingen and is the co-director of the Parkinson's Genome Network

 

Additionally, we have former NASA astronaut Rich Clifford, the only human being to perform a spacewalk after receiving a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease.

Two Sites, 2,000 Steps and One Unforgettable Experience   Vitality Walk
Every step taken by someone with Parkinson's shows their determination to live well with this disease. Every step taken by friends, families, neighbors and co-workers supports those individuals and families who are affected by Parkinson's. Walking the walk is the way participants of the Vitality Walk share with others the tenacity they or someone they know with Parkinson's shows with every step taken. NEW Time for Boulder Caregivers Support Group

The caregivers support group has changed the meeting time to 2:00pm on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

 

NEW Date & Time for Broomfield Rhythm & Grace class

Dance classes held at the Dance Arts Studio in Broomfield will now be held on Thursdays from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.

 

Loveland Dance Class - Rhythm and Grace

There's still time to join the Loveland Rhythm & Grace class. Classes are held at 11:00am on Tuesday's through February 18 and are held at the Studio West - Loveland, 645 Denver Ave., Loveland.

 

Yoga, Tai Chi & Movement for People with Parkinson's Class

New class in Boulder includes yoga, Tai Chi and other exercises designed for people with Parkinson's. Classes run until March 13 at 11:30am at the VIDA yoga studio. Contact Wendy Christ for more information at (631) 754 - 4812 or by email.
