Sons of Italy Foundation^® (SIF) President Joseph DiTrapani congratulates Columbus Citizens Foundation (CCF) President Angelo Vivolo and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for recognizing the exemplary contribution of Professor Joseph Tusiani, and further congratulates Prof. Tusiani for being named Poet Laureate Emeritus of New York.

I want to share some wonderful news with you and your membership. Professor Joseph Tusiani, internationally known literary icon, has been acknowledged for his incredible career by Governor Andrew Cuomo!

The Columbus Citizens Foundation takes great pride in initiating and supporting Governor Cuomo's appointment of Professor Tusiani as New York State Poet Laureate Emeritus. We have a strong voice in Governor Andrew Cuomo and are most appreciative of his efforts.

This recognition of Professor Tusiani brings to the forefront literary accomplishments which span decades and serve to educate, inspire and ensure the perpetuity of the richness of language, Italian-American literature and the humanities.

Our unity as Italian-American organizations embodying a wealth of inherited culture, necessitates that we continue to pursue excellence and further promote the acknowledgment of artistic perfection in our community.
