WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 9, 2013 - The Sons of Italy Foundation (SIF), a leading Italian-American philanthropic organization, announced today the winner of its 2013 Super Bowl Sweepstakes.

The SIF held the sweepstakes to raise money for its philanthropic causes, including the Alzheimer's Association, Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism and the Cooley's Anemia Foundation. William "Bill" DiCicco of Virginia Beach, Va., won the random drawing for the grand prize of two tickets to Super Bowl XLVII this February in New Orleans, roundtrip airfare for two, a four-night stay in a four-star hotel and various Super Bowl amenities.

DiCicco was thrilled with his prize. "I can't believe it," he said. "I've never won anything in my life!" He has been a member of the Order Sons of Italy in America Roma Lodge #254 in Virginia Beach, Va., for three years and currently serves as vice president.

The SIF congratulates Mr. DiCicco on winning the sweepstakes and thanks those who participated. SIF CEO Philip R. Piccigallo extended his personal thank you to "all those many participants who donated to the worthy causes of the Sons of Italy Foundation, making this campaign an unquestioned success."

The 2013 Super Bowl Sweepstakes is one of many ways the SIF is working hard this year to raise money to give back to the community and support its many philanthropic causes. Visit our website to learn about other ways you can be a part of our efforts.

The SIF is the philanthropic arm of the Order Sons of Italy in America, the nation's oldest and largest organization for people of Italian heritage. To date, the SIF has contributed $124 million to medical research, disaster relief, scholarships and cultural preservation, along with other special projects.
