The NELA Gala is the SIF's most important fund-raising and public affairs event, highlighting the foundation's commitment to educational excellence, leadership and the betterment of society. To date, the NELA Gala has helped the SIF raise $123 million for education, medical research, disaster relief, cultural preservation, and other special projects, with $51 million in scholarships awarded. Sons of Italy Scholarship Competition Underway
|  Through the Sons of Italy Foundation (SIF) and more than 650 state and local lodges, OSIA has awarded nearly $51 million in scholarships to date.
Each year, the SIF offers 10 to 12 merit-based scholarships (National Leadership Grants), ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, in a nationwide competition.

Lodge Photo of the Month

Sons of Italy Virgilio Lodge #1586 and Beatrice Portinari Lodge #1626 presented a check of $8,734 to the UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Center during a ceremony held in the UC Davis MIND Institute on November 6.
The donation brings the organization's donations to UC Davis Alzheimer's disease research to $130,000. "We are extremely grateful for our ongoing relationship with the Sons of Italy for their continuing support of the Alzheimer's Disease Center," center Director Charles DeCarli said.
