Your Last Chance to Submit to GIFF is Coming Up

Your last chance to submit to GIFF is coming up!  The Geocaching International Film Festival is about finding new favorite places, people, and puzzles, and we know geocaching is full of Story Worthy Moments. The trick is to capture them on film. The global geocaching community is waiting to see YOUR Story Worthy Moment!. Submit your film by August 1st to be considered as a 2016 GIFF finalist. It's time to dig out your video camera and practice your zoom skills! The deadline for submitting an original geocaching film to GIFF 2016 is August 1, 2016.
 
 
For the fourth year in a row, 16 films made by geocachers for geocachers will be shown at geocaching movie nights around the world. This year's theme is "Story Worthy Moments". Capture your most memorable geocaching moments on camera, and your film could be viewed by thousands of geocachers all over the world. You'd be geocaching famous... the best kind of famous!

AGM 2016 News

The Annual General Meeting for the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association is quickly approaching! Clinton is our host community this year from October 26-28th 2016, with lots in the planning stages already.  This year we'll as many or more learning sessions, workshops and business sessions planned for everyone to take part in.

PLEASE NOTE: Accommodations are booking fast, so ensure you're covered and book now.  Space is very limited, unless you don't mind camping in our region!

At this point we'd like to ask you to nominate someone for one of our handful or awards or, an even more coveted prize, as a director on our board!  Here's the info on each of our awards and also as director.

Best Marketing Initiative:  This award recognizes a person or business for a marketing initiative or campaign that successfully increases business and enhances the tourism industry in our area.

A very successful part of our AGM's over the past few years has been our silent and live auctions.  The success of this depends on the kind donations from our stakeholders and partners throughout the region, many business and individuals.  Please consider donating an item or package.  Keep in mind
items may be used for the onsite silent auction or larger or unique items and packages will be sold online with GoBid Auctions - expanding your exposure. This enables everyone around the world to bid on auction items and was VERY successful in our pilot year last year.  All funds are used to support the event and keep registration costs low.

CELEBRATING THE PEOPLE OF THE RIVERS
Labour Day Weekend

The Lytton River Festival is a celebration of two great rivers - the Thompson and Fraser - and their historic and present role in the small community of Lytton, BC. Join us on Labour Day weekend as we celebrate the rich history of the people of the rivers.

The Interior Salish First Nations people have lived along these magnificent rivers for over 10,000 years and are an integral part of the River Festival. Their rivers are integrated into their culture. The Village of Lytton, Lytton First Nations, Lytton & District Chamber of Commerce and Kumsheen Rafting Resort are active partners in this fun-filled three-day river celebration.

Google Trekker

Destination BC is bringing the Google Trekker to the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast as part of the summer content gathering and marketing projects. Google Trekker is a camera that films remote hiking trails and locations like Google street view - check out this link for examples of other treks
