New Service at the University Health Center

Over-the-counter medications Faculty and staff have a new place to purchase over-the-counter medicine for less than they would pay at a local pharmacy. Just bring your UO ID to the pharmacy during the University Health Center's hours of operation. The pharmacy accepts cash or check (sorry, no debit/credit cards).  The Health Center will be stocking over-the-counter allergy medication like Claritin, Zyrtec, Benadryl, and Allegra.  They also sell other items including pain relievers, acid reducers, sunscreen and safer sex products.

The Faculty Staff Meal Plan
Find yourself hungry and stranded on campus often? Treat yourself to the hall dining venues with these awesome meal plans!

The residence hall dining venues are popular for serving an array of healthy, delicious foods. And, ever since the implementation of UO faculty and staff meal cards last spring, UO employees have the opportunity to eat at the all-you-care-to-eat venues-Carson and Barnhart-at discounted rates.

For $35, employees can buy a pre-paid meal card worth five lunches; for $65, they can buy a card worth ten lunches; and, for $150, a card worth 25 lunches. These cards are redeemable for lunch on weekdays in Carson and Barnhart dining.

With a growing number of local, healthy, and nutritious food options served in residence halls, University Dining is glad to offer delicious lunches to UO faculty and staff at reduced prices.

The UO hosted a meeting of the Oregon College and University Suicide Prevention Project (OCUSPP) on April 10.  OCUSPP is a consortium of nine Oregon colleges and universities, which collaborate around suicide prevention.  One of the highlights of the meeting was a presentation by Brian Clark, a Ph.D. student in social psychology who also works for Student Affairs Assessment and Research.  Brian has analyzed Oregon college data from a national stress, suicide and coping study that explores factors that distinguish between students who exercise positive coping skills and those who are more likely to become suicidal in the face of stress.  Result from this robust study are expected be shared within the division in the coming months.  During the April meeting, Stan Dura, Director of Assessment and Research for the division, consulted with the consortium around making better use of research to inform member campuses' suicide prevention efforts.
