Greetings!

It has been an exciting year so far at our law school! Our colleagues are being recognized for their outstanding achievements to our profession and our current students (and soon to be colleagues) have planned and executed some amazing events for which we are all proud. We are busy planning some forthcoming MCLE events for later in the spring, including a presentation on free and low cost legal research for solo/small firm practice.

I also have sad news to share. On February 4th, Claudine Ruiz (LL.M. '10), a San Diego County Deputy District Attorney and Prosecutorial Science LL.M. alumna, passed away after battling cancer. Claudine is survived by her husband, Bill, and two young sons, Liam and Owen. San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis called Claudine a "dedicated and outstanding trial lawyer". Our thoughts and prayers go out to Claudine's family and friends.

Please be on the look out for exciting information about our next alumni mixer in April and as always, we want to hear from you! If you would like to become involved with the law school or just want to share you opinion, we hope that you'll send us a message or come in and visit with us.

Sincerely,
Ian Jones (JD '10)
Assistant Director of Student and Alumni Services
