OpenSIS LINK
We have been working hard to freshen up our website with current information. We are adding more tabs and links. One of the most useful additions for parents is a link to the OpenSIS sign-in page. If you go to the ODCA website (opendoorchristianacademy.com), in the upper right corner on the dark blue banner is a link that says Student Information System. If you click on that link, it will take you directly to the page that you need for signing into the data system. Please contact the school office if you are having any difficulty with the OpenSIS program. You can also click on the link below!

LIVING NATIVITY
The Church of the Open Door has a yearly Living Nativity experience to share the true meaning of Christmas. Individuals perform in settings from the time of Christ's birth. ODCA families are invited and encouraged to join in the efforts this year. You can sign up to help set up, clean up, or to take part in the different sets. It would be a great way to start of the Christmas season together as a family. The Living Nativity is on Sat. Dec. 5th and Sunday, Dec. 6th. There are needs for volunteers from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Your participation would include an hour in one of the sets and a half hour before your assignment to get your costume and learn what your part would be in the set. (any speaking assignments are very minimal). As ODCA is a ministry of the Church of the Open Door, you will be able to use your volunteer time towards your service hours!

We had a blast at our Players vs Parents soccer game and Soccer Awards! Thank you to all the parents that supported our teams this soccer season! Thank you to our coaches (for the girls) Mr. John Ewerth and Ms. Jasmine Boone and (for the boys) Mr. Nick Spaulding.
Congratulations to the girls MVP player Shayna Peart and Most Improved player Gianna Mozzone. The boys MVP is Michael Brown and Paulo Garcia is the Most Improved player. Everyone worked hard and had an awesome season! Now, let's bring on some basketball!!!

RECOGNIZE ANYTHING IN THIS PICTURE?
Our mound of Lost and Found articles is already growing. There are some nice jackets, shirts, even a sock or two. Please stop in and check the pile if your student is missing any items. In addition, please make sure all jackets and other accessories are clearly labeled with your child's name. We will all soon be wearing gloves and hats and we don't want that collection to grow as your child shivers during recess. A moment to mark with a Sharpie will solve a lot of problems!

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED FOR WINTER CAMP STUDENTS
미국 에 오신 것을 환영합니다미국 에 오신 것을 환영합니다
(migug e osin geos-eul hwan-yeonghabnida - Welcome to America)
ODCA will host Korean students during the months of January and February. The students will be attending school during this time of year for an English immersion and American classroom experience. We currently have ten students enrolled and up to an additional ten are expected. We are in need of families to provide housing as a host family for these students.
1) The students currently are males and females, grades 6th through 8th. There may be some students in lower grades also coming.
2) The student will need a bedroom to stay in. They can share a room with a similar aged student from ODCA if they have their own bed.
3) The student will need transportation to and from school each day. There are some districts that may allow them to ride the bus but not all of them will allow the winter students.
4) The students will be provided with school lunches on Mon/Wed/Friday but you will need to provide lunch on Tues/Thurs. You will also need to provide meals for the rest of the time during their stay.
Students will be going on day trips every Saturday during the month of January with the Korean agency.
5) The agency will provide each family with a stipend of $800.00 a month to cover the cost of room and board.
a) Students will be arriving December 21st and December 29th. (additional stipend will be provided for those arriving Dec. 21st)
b)Some students are coming for January only and others for January and February.
If you are interested in being a host family for the Winter Camp program, please complete the Host Family application through the link below and send it to the school office. If you have any questions about the program, please contact Kim Wiley at kwiley@opendoorchristianacademy.com
