October Fruit of the Spirit - JOY

"For our heart is glad in Him, because we trust His holy name." Psalm 33:21

Greetings Families and Friends of ODCA:

As I looked over this email to proof read, I noticed it was full of requests for volunteering and participating in ODCA events.  I appreciate how greatly all of you value a Christian education for your child.   One of the challenges we face each year is that to keep tuition affordable we have to rely on extra hands and support to provide a high quality education based in God's truth.  So the commitment to your child(ren) as a part of these efforts is a commitment to the programs and services of the school.  We don't want you to just glance through this weekly information but to carefully consider how you can best partner with us in these efforts.  We have the Race for Education as our main fund raisers and the others are optional ways to further the wonderful opportunities your child has as a student here.  We also design some of the events to be full of fun and fellowship.  Sometimes we need to take a step back from our busy lives and just enjoy fellowship with those who are working together with us to educate these children for the Lord.  I also want to fill this weekly newsletter moving forward with information about the activities that your students may be involved in.  For instance:
Our student council speeches and elections will be this coming week.
Ask your middle school student if they are participating or discuss with them what kind of candidate they should vote for.

There have been several students selected for the monthly fruit of the spirit awards for September.  Look for their names in next week's news!

There are some exciting field trips coming up this week.  Kindergarten is going to the farm and 8th grade is going to Gettysburg!  It is a great chance for education outside of the classroom.

This is just the beginning of some exciting things happening at Open Door Christian Academy.  Please keep us in prayer as we seek the Lord for His best for the school!
In His Service,
Meg McHale, Principal
