Dear Families and Friends of ODCA;
It seems that almost daily in the news is some incident or threat in a school that brings fear to our hearts about the safety of our children. It is not the same as years ago when school doors could be left unlocked and parents could stop by their child's class unannounced. The increasing troubles of the last decade have led the State of Pennsylvania to enact laws to insure that anyone having contact with your child in a school or other organization (including churches) would have had their background cleared of any potential threat. This is tedious for parents who want to be a part of their child's school experience, which we know has been statistically proven to be the best for their growth and education. At ODCA, we work diligently to protect the hearts and minds of the students by teaching them God's Truth in all things and we are also making diligent measures to guard their physical safety as well. Teachers and all visitors will be wearing ID badges at all times, clearances are necessary for participation in school activities and we are setting a plan for short and long term facility safety enhancements. We know that the Lord is "my strength and my shield" Psalm 28:7 and we rest under the shadow of His wing. We are also called to be wise and not foolish while living in this changing world. I pray you will be patient as we enact measures that give protection and rely on the Lord who is always with us. Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support.
