Exciting News from the Principal!

Greetings Families and Friends of ODCA:

The summer has turned a corner to the month of August where the excitement builds in anticipation for the return of the students to school.  We have been busy with the preparations and changes over the summer to make this an outstanding school year ahead.  There have been physical changes including remodeling in the front office, painting of the hallways and installation of new lockers.   Other changes include new faculty, revisions of handbooks, developing new programs, scheduling and the hard work of attracting new students to join our school family.  The Lord has been blessing the school in amazing ways and we approach the beginning of the school year with grateful hearts for so much favor and provisions.  We are looking forward to the halls filled with the sounds of the students again as they grow in academics, understanding and in love of the Lord.

Mr. Chris Wiegand:  Chris graduated from Cedarville University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.  He is certified to teach middle school and high school math.  He will be teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade math part time in the mornings while he continues teaching at the Huntington Learning Center.  Mr. Wiegand will also be a co-teacher for the 8th grade homeroom.

Look for an announcement next week about the new PE teacher/Athletic Director as that position is being finalized on Monday!

In addition, a big THANK YOU to the students who helped us with our interviewing process.  Each teacher prepared and presented a sample lesson for the team to observe and we had at least ten students participating in the sample lessons!

PRAYER NIGHT

"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."   Romans 12:12

On Monday, August 10, 2015, we will be again joining together to lift the school, faculty and staff, students, programs, etc. in prayer.  In the beginning of July, there were several families of the school and church that joined us for a time of prayer together and then spread throughout the building to pray in the various classrooms.  We have much to be praising the Lord together for and are seeking His directions every day for the future of ODCA.  Please join us as we lift our hearts and prayers to Him together at 7:00pm in the school library.
