Operation Christmas Child

We received this note below from the lady we teamed up with for our Operation Christmas Child Project....

Dear Open Door:

I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the help of your 8th grade students. They were a delight to have at our relay center. They were excellent. We started off with a little training session to teach them how to pack the cartons. They obviously are good listeners because when we checked their work at the end of 2 hours-- it was PERFECT! (Many of our adult volunteers don't do that well.) Not only did they pack all of the shoe box gifts they brought, they also packed everything else we received while they were with us. That was an amazing amount of work. I really appreciated their help and wonderful attitude. We were delighted to have them join us.

We enjoyed lots of treats and had a great time. We would love to partner with you again next year. Finally, thank you so much for all of YOUR help and support.

Sincerely,

Christy

 Middle School Deficiency Policy Change

The information below was printed on a pumpkin colored notice which must be signed and returned tomorrow (27th)

Middle School is now posting all of its grades on Jupiter Grades (www.jupitergrades.com) on a weekly basis for all major subjects. Therefore, deficiency notices will no longer be sent home midway through the marking period. Parents and students are encouraged to check their grades on a weekly basis. In addition, parents are automatically notified by the Jupiter Grades system when a student's grade goes below a C.

Parents are also encouraged to respond to any missing assignments or low grades by email to the school. Teachers email addresses are found in the front of the ODCA School Directory.

Please sign below stating that you have read and understand this change in our Deficiency Notice Policy. This form is to be returned to school no later than Wednesday, November 27th. Demerits can be issued for signed forms not being returned by the due date above.

researcher_science_tube.jpg       SCIENCE NIGHT
Do you have a knack with Science?  Last year we had to cancel our Science Night since there was no parent(s) helpers to coordinate this event.  So far this year we have not had any parent set up to coordinate this event.  We are sending out another request to ask anyone who might want to run it or team up with a few other parents to run this event.  Without a coordinator we will not have this event.  If you are interested or would like more information  - please email our parent group at odpa2013@gmail.com
