By now your child has brought home their bright Race For Education Packet. We ask that if you have not already done so, please review the packet and return their address list back to school no later than tomorrow so that they can help their class win a prize for 100% participation! Joyce Brown from our ODPA group will be needing helpers next week as we will begin the mailer writing process. On-Line Handbooks & Sign Off Forms

 In our welcome back to school note there was instructions for you and your children to review our Student Handbooks which can be located on our school website at www.opendoorchristianacademy.com under the "documents" section. With that welcome letter, you received a purple form which must be completed and returned back to school. If you have not done this yet - these forms are now past due. Please complete this project tonight so your child can return their form.
For Students participating in SPORTS - you will also need to read the Athletic Handbook found under that "documents" section and complete the orange athletic handbook sign off form. In order to participate in games your child must have a current PIAA form, paid in full sports fee $75.00, and a completed athletic handbook sign off from.

 A reminder that morning bus/car arrival for students in Grades K-8 does not begin until 8:00 a.m. and when a teacher is on duty. On Wednesday, we had handful of students left out for morning arrival prior to 8 when no one was on duty which is not safe nor is it allowed. We want to remind all parents/relatives driving in our parking lot that the speed is 5 mph. Please remember to maintain this speed from the time you enter our lot until you exit our lot! We are concerned for each child's safety!

ODPA (Open Door Parents Association)

We have two Parent Association meetings coming up next week. Please join us at one of them as we will be discussing up-coming events for our school. We will also be assigning coordinator positions for events as well as signing up volunteers for our September events. The Race for Education and the All School Dinner are just two of our events to be discussed. If you are a new family to the school, this is a great opportunity to find out what each event is about and how you can get involved. There is much to be discussed so please come join us either date/time.

 Instructions for Purchasing Lunches
- Monday Lunch Program
- Hot Lunch Program (Wed/Fri)
Our school offers a Monday Lunch Program and a Hot Lunch (Wed/Fri) Program - these programs are run by two different groups so the instructions below will explain the process of how to order your child's lunch so their order can be properly filled. Prior to the start of the month your child will be given a Monday Lunch Order form and a Hot Lunch Order Form. If your copy gets lost a link will also be included on the Weekly Connections where you are able to print a replacement copy. Monday Lunch & Hot Lunch Orders MUST be turned in by Monday 9:00 a.m. in order to be tallied for that week. LATE orders will NOT BE ACCEPTED. - You can order by the week or for the entire month-but it must be rec'd by Monday 9am.
- Payments and order forms for Monday Lunch and Hot Lunch MUST be kept separate. If you have multiple children you can combine payment for all of their Monday lunch orders on one check (or cash payment) and combine all Hot Lunch orders on another check (or cash payment). If you do this, please be sure each child turns in their own order form to their teacher (do not combine the orders onto one sheet). Mark on the order forms which child/grade has the family's payment.
- ALL Payments must be EXACT amount - change will NOT be given. If payment is short - the order will not be processed until correct amount is sent in.
- There are no refunds for missed lunches/sick days. (If there is a snow day a voucher will be issued).

 Thursday, September 12th
Picture Day order forms were sent home last week. All students need to get their photo (even if you are not ordering a packet). These photos are used in our yearbook as well as for ODCA Library cards.
For this day students are not required to wear school uniform colors - however jeans, t-shirts, etc. are not allowed. Students can wear colors outside of our dress code colors or even a striped or designed shirt.
Order forms must be handed to the photographer at the time of getting their picture taken. Change will not be given. Payment must be made payable to Lifetouch.

Our school collects Campbell's Labels & Box Tops to earn supplies and money for our school. Please save these and send them into the office with your child. (Also ask relatives and friends to save them for you as well!)
Target:
Do you have a Target Charge Card? If so, you can enroll your card in the Take Charge of Education rewards program and earn 1% for each purchase you make will go to our school. We just received our check from their last reward period and by those participating in this program we received a check in the amount of $865.00! Thank you for being a part of this program, and continue to share this with others you know who have a Target card.
TD BANK - AFFINITY PROGRAM:
Do you bank at TD Bank. If you have an account with them you are able to sign up your account for this program and our school will be eligible for contributions from TD bank based on those enrolled.
