Survey Comments Answered
Survey comments are always taken seriously, so much so that those which get repeated deserve an answer:
  1. For those who wondered why the change to stand-up stations after the Tumwater remodel, the short answer is "speed". Complaints on long lines were the norm as the old stations took 2-3 times as long to handle a single transaction. This was fine on a slow Wednesday afternoon but aggravating on Friday or Saturday (we still have one for those who need it)
  2. Low deposit dividend rates look like they will be with us for awhile. For example, the rate we can get on excess deposits has fallen to as low as 0.05% (and no, that's not a typo). Will will continue to keep our rates as high as we can, however.
  3. Some questioned why we ended sending foreign wires. This was not taken lightly, but was the result of new regulations. Simply, we could not offer a cost-effective solution given the new rules (as many other banks and credit unions have also done).
  4. If you are wondering about where to find a free ATM-  here they are!
  5. We are looking at making the check writing stand in both West Olympia and Tumwater larger due to multiple complaints
  6. Future drive-thru designs will incorporate larger lanes for larger vehicles (if the permitting agency agrees)
  7. And finally, while our lobby pictures are not for sale, but you could win one at the Annual Meeting!

Annualmeet2013 Annual Meeting

The time is getting close! Join us for a free breakfast at South Sound Manor on Saturday, March 2nd. Doors open at 9:00 am and the meeting begins at 10:00 am.

This is a great time for you to meet the Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee and management staff of your credit union. You'll hear how the credit union performed in 2012 as well as what plans we have for 2013. And of course, you'll have time to tell everyone what you think.

We do ask that you RSVP using this link (the caterer gets cranky when she cooks for 50 and has 150 show up). So PLEASE let us know that you will be there!

We will also be raffling off one of our unique framed prints (like the ones in each branch). These are NOT available for sale so this may be your best chance!

Tax Time

Making Taxes Easier

With the New Year come thoughts of filing taxes. We will be issuing tax statements by the end of the month. We realize sometimes people misplace their tax statements or simply like to get them without having to wait for the mail to arrive. We will be making it even easier for you starting this year; you will have access to your tax statements in TWO ways. We will mail your tax forms as normal but you can also access them by signing into online banking, clicking e-statements then selecting tax forms tab.

Note: Tax forms will be available in late January, 2013.

Here it is again

If you have not done it lately, obtain a copy of your free credit report from here (Note that there are many sites that charge you - this is the free one). If you find discrepancies use their online forms to dispute any items that are not yours. Of course, we can also help by looking through it with you.

Note that you will only get your credit report - not your score.
