Wishing All a Happy & Safe
Memorial Day Holiday
memorial_day11.jpg
Memorial Day is a time to remember those who gave their lives for our country and to thank those who served in the past and who are currently serving to retain our freedom and all the rights we enjoy as Americans.  May God Bless all of you and your families.  Please remember the true meaning of this holiday as you enjoy your cook-outs and festivities.  Most importantly, be safe.

RESERVATIONS NOW OPEN
IRELAND Sep. 2 - 15, 2017

We are ready for you to sign up for our next land tour to Ireland.  You will depart the US on September 2, 2017 and enjoy twelve glorious days and nights in Ireland returning home on September 15.  Begin your Irish adventure in Belfast where we will visit the Titanic Museum. Enjoy all the sights of Dublin including St. Patrick's Cathedral and the Guinness Storehouse.  Then, on to the famous Cliffs of Moher, the Ring of Kerry, Killarney, Limerick and more.
Please act quickly as we only have three remaining fully accessible rooms left.  Our clients have been waiting for this tour so we hope you can join us.

WHEELING THROUGH HOLLAND

Do you know that there are more bicycles than residents in The Netherlands?  Do you realize that in Amsterdam up to 70% of all journeys are made by bicycle?
Let's join the Revolution!  A colleague of mine has organized Bike & Wheel (wheelchair) Tours of Holland beginning this year with more to follow.  I know a lot of you are involved in hand cycling and would be the perfect candidates for such a tour.  They offer all kinds of included adaptive equipment that will turn your wheelchair into an amazing cycling machine.  The tour is inclusive and accessible and looks amazing.

Just one way to see Holland via wheelchair!
Worried about long security lines spoiling your summer vacation?

News reports getting you concerned about just how early you need to arrive at the airport for your next flight?  I doubt there's an easy answer to know exactly just how soon you need to be at the airport.  For most of us who use wheelchair assistance to get through security and to our gates, this has not been a huge issue.  However, please be aware that this is not always the case.  Your disability may not always give you priority treatment.  Also, more and more people with disabilities are now traveling and need to get through security as well.
In light of this, I have included some tips on how to avoid these long security lines and, hopefully, not miss your flight.

Need a scooter, wheelchair, O2, or anything else for your next cruise?  Let us make arrangements for you with Special Needs at Sea.

Deb's Medical Update
Just a brief update on my medical condition.  I feel fine and am keeping very busy with work. My incision is still slow to heal so  not ready for another prosthesis yet but I am getting out and about in my manual wheelchair for now.
I took my first airplane ride as a bilateral amputee last month and experienced the hated "Aisle Chair".  Not a fun adventure and I cannot even imagine how a larger person than I can do this.  A necessary evil but worth it to see the world!  Arrived at our hotel and I could not get into the bed!  It was way too high.  The very nice people at the Residence Inn removed the box spring.  Then, it was way too low!  About now I'm feeling like Goldilocks.  We ended up sleeping in the very uncomfortable sofa bed but it was definitely worth seeing all my clients, friends and colleagues at the NY Metro Abilities Expo.  Next trip....Greensboro, NC for the Amputee Coalition Conference.  Wish me luck!!!

Just Doing it a little Differently.....
