happy-holidays-header2.jpgHere we are at the end of December and another year has flown by.  It has been a wonderful 2013 for Easy Access Travel and we have you to thank for it. Our year began with our incredibly successful Young Adult Spina Bifida Cruise last January and is ending with us on a "high" from our amazing 2nd Amputee Coalition Cruise two weeks ago.  The months have been filled with several Abilities Expos, Conferences, Conventions, Seminars at Sea and the opportunity to work with so many of you helping to make your travel dreams come true.  Thanks for letting us be a part of your lives in 2013.

AMPUTEE COALITION CRUISE

The 2nd Amputee Coalition Cruise, Dec. 8-15, 2013 on board RCCL's Navigator of The Seas, was a huge success!  Old friendships were renewed and new friendships were formed from the moment we all gathered.  We were 48 strong and a fantastic time was had by all.  Our cruise began with a pre-cruise dinner at Fish Tales in Galveston, a night at Four Points by Sheraton and then transfer to the ship. During the week we visited Falmouth, Jamaica and enjoyed a special day at Cornwall Beach where staff paid excellent attention to all of us.  We had reserved chaise lounges and lots of help getting into and out of the beautiful warm, blue waters.

After frolicking in the ocean, we enjoyed a delicious Jamaican lunch!
The following day found us in Grand Cayman where we left the ship via accessible roll-off tender.  All mobility devices including scooter and wheelchairs (manual & power) were easily accommodated.  We boarded wheelchair accessible buses and off we went to visit the Turtle Farm where our group was the first to arrive that morning so we had lots of private time with the turtles!  We then headed out to where our large boat was waiting to take us to Stingray City.  This was amazing!  One by one we entered the clear aqua water by the sandbar that is home to the famous Grand Cayman stingrays.  As we held on to a surfboard, our hosts let us hold, pet and kiss the stingrays.  Faces hurt from smiling so much and memories were formed to last a lifetime.  We ate delicious Jamaican Beef Patties back on board and delighted in each other's company.

Our accessible shore excursions culminated with a stop in Cozumel where we visited Dophinarias and swam with the dolphins.  It is safe to say that this was the highlight of the cruise for many.

Words really cannot describe the comraderie and the joy that was experienced during this amazing Amputee Coalition Travel Adventure. The cruise was enhanced by the presence of Lar'Juanette Williams and Lise Lindsey from the Coalition and the fantastic support of the entire Royal Caribbean team on Navigator of The Seas.  We hope to see you on of our upcoming adventures!

Easy Access Travel welcomes your questions and looks forward to helping you plan your next trip.
