The nominees for Player of the Month for the month of

March 2016 are:
Maia Nieman
12-Taylor

The 12-Taylor's Player of the Month is:
                Maia Nieman

12-Taylor would like to nominate Maia Nieman for March Player of the Month.  Her commitment to becoming a better server and passer has become critical to the team's success.  Being one of the younger players on the team, she has carried a heavy load as the libero.  She is learning what it means to become a fearless defender and has been improving greatly.   A team generally does not recognize how important a libero is until you have one that does their job well and that is Maia.  Keep up the awesome work Maia!

Coach Taylor & Alicia
Kira Stefanides

12-Colton

The 12-Colton's Player of the Month is:
                Kira Stefanides

The 12-Colton Player of the Month for March is Kira Stefanides!   This girl has been impressive all year long and continues to make improvements at every practice.  I can always count on Kira to lead with her precise play and her love of the game. She is a great competitor who gives it her all, and can play various positions on the court.   I know that when we are doing drills like bowling and 50, Kira is sharply focused on the little things.   She not only improves, but helps others improve too.  Kira always brings it when we compete, and it's a big reason why we are climbing the SCVA ladder! Congrats Kira, you are a pleasure to coach and you have a bright future in this sport.

Coach Colton & Rob
Elyse Stowell

13-Carson

The 13-Carson's Player of the Month is:
                   Elyse Stowell

This month's POM for 13-Carson is Elyse Stowell.  Elyse has been on an absolute tear this month.  In our first mandatory she had 21 kills, 6 errors and 59 swings for a .254 hitting percentage.  In our second mandatory she had an even better performance racking up 37 kills on 86 swings and only 10 errors adding up to .313.hitting percentage.  Her steady offense is a big reason why our team is currently ranked #1 in So Cal.  She's also been passing great, playing lights out defense, picking up tips, defending seams and covering tons of court.  We have been in a lot of tight matches recently and Elyse has always risen during the big moments.  She definitely brings her best when her best is needed and it's so exciting to see such a young player rise to the occasion when the pressure is on.  I can't wait to keep coaching this girl because she is so fun to be around, always works her hardest, and she is learning fast.  The best is certainly yet to come!

Coach Carson & Kasia
Kendall Saeger

13-Reanna

The 13-Reanna's Player of the Month is:
                  Kendall Saeger

Kendall Saeger is our TStreet 13-Reanna Player of the Month!  Kendall is always one of the hardest working girls in the gym.  She shows up at every practice ready to become 1% better than she was the day before.  Her dedication to improvement has lead her to be a key attacker and defensive player for us.  The consistency in her sets have played a huge role in keeping our offense in rhythm.  Kendall cheers the success of others and is becoming a true leader.  I know she has a very bright athletic future ahead of her and I cannot wait to see how she progresses over the next few years.  Keep up the hard work Kendall!!

Coach Reanna & Megan
Gabby Barnes

13-Madi

The 13-Madi's Player of the Month is:
                    Gabby Barnes

13-Madi Player of the Month for March goes to Gabby Barnes.  Gabby is a hard working athlete who is always looking for ways to improve.  During a tournament in February we were down a few players, but Gabby stepped up and ran a 5-1 offense on her own!  This is much different from the 4-2 offense we usually use.  I am thrilled to help her grow as an athlete and a wonderful young woman.  Congrats Gabby!!

Coach Madi & Jesse
Devon Schaller

13-Chris

The 13-Chris' Player of the Month is:
                    Devon Schaller

My nomination for Player of the Month is Devon Schaller.  Devon is one of those players that you enjoy having on your team.  She is a hard worker and always looks to improve herself by 2% everyday.  She encourages her teammates to play for each other and does everything she can to make sure everybody sticks together.  From the beginning of the season up until now, Devon has improved in her skills all due to her determination to play for her teams success and not for her own.  I am proud to coach her this year and any coach will be lucky enough to have her on their team.

Coach Chris
Katy Kellenberg

13-Sam LB

The 13-Sam's Player of the Month is:
        Katy Kellenberg

March Player of the Month for 13-Sam LB is Katy Kellenberg.  Katy has the most wonderful attitude and has improved so much because of it!  No matter if we're down or if we're winning she makes sure to encourage all of her teammates.  She is so coachable and has become such a talented middle blocker.  In our last tournament Katy got an amazing block!  It was awesome and the whole team was so excited for her after working so hard at blocking in practice!  She is doing so great at following the hitter and anticipating the ball.  Thank you Katy for all of your hard work, I am a lucky coach!

Coach Sam
Ally Herbers

14-Shawn

The 14-Shawn's Player of the Month is:
                    Ally Herbers

Tstreet 14-Shawn would like to nominate Ally Herbers as March Player of the Month!  Ally continues to steadily improve and is really making strong early angles with confidence in serve receive.  She is a positive teammate and if she continues to grow at the rate she is we will have to find a position on the net for her!  Coach Brett and I find it really satisfying to see Ally compete and play how she has been training this last month.  In competition, we see Ally BBB her way during long rallies which comes from mindful preparation during the first hour of practice.  Keep up the positive strides Ally!

Coach Shawn & Brett
Emma Stapp

14-Ramon

The 14-Ramon's Player of the Month is:
             Emma Stapp

14-Ramon Player of the Month for March is Emma Stapp.  Emma is a great team player!  Her development has improved greatly this past month. As a setter, she has been committing to getting her feet to the ball!  Emma did a great job running her
offense during Mandatory 1 and 2.  Her hard work and attitude is what you'll notice on the court and because of that, her progress in all aspect of the sport is getting better!  Keep up the hard work and dedication to your team!  You're a rock star!   #BBB

Coach Ramon & Chris

Kayla Halle

14-Megan

The 14-Megan's Player of the Month is:
                     Kayla Halle

My nominee this March Player of the Month is Kayla Halle because she is such a force in the back row.  As a sideout libero for our team, we rely on her passing to get us out of a rotation, and Kayla consistently delivers.  Her defense lengthens rallies and frustrates opponents.  Not only on the court, but off the court Kayla is a great encourager and a player always desiring to learn.  She asks questions, then goes out and executes.  I am so glad to have her on this great team, and look forward to seeing her continued improvement through the second half of the season!  Congratulations Kayla!

Coach Megan

Zoe Waters

14-Cooper

The 14-Cooper's Player of the Month is:
                Zoe Waters

Zoe Waters is 14-Cooper's Player of the Month.  Zoe has made a lot of improvement since the beginning of the year.  The more comfortable she becomes on the court, the more her athleticism begins to show. She started as a middle and moved to outside.  She also has done a great job learning rotations for two positions this month.  Since then she has been extremely diligent in improving her passing.  She has the potential to become a really good player if she keeps working hard.

Coach Cooper
Lauren Byerly

14-Doug LB

The 14-Doug's Player of the Month is:
                  Lauren Byerly

I nominate Lauren Byerly for Player of the Month for March.  Lauren has really come along this past month, with increasing power and better timing on blocking.  She works hard and is studying the game. She is versatile as a player and contributes at a few different positions effectively.  Lauren's attitude is the best, giving me 100% while always having a good time.  She is competing at a higher level and it shows. Keep it up Lauren!

Coach Doug
Shanti Nunn

14-Mark LB

The 14-Mark's Player of the Month is:
                             Shanti Nunn

I would like to nominate Shanti Nunn for 14-Mark LB volleyball Player of the Month for March 2016.  Shanti has made amazing improvements this season and I'm so proud of her.  Shanti's defense, her footwork and her anticipation for the ball has given her the chance to play every position on the court.  She's made these improvements by becoming engaged in practice, asking a lot of questions about the game and always has a smile on her face.  She's a huge asset to the team.  Congratulations Shanti.  Keep up the good work!

Coach Mark
Leya Wang

15-Curtis

The 15-Curtis' Player of the Month is:
                      Leya Wang

Our Player of the Month is Leya Wang.   Leya has been an extremely versatile player for our team. In the beginning of the season we used Leya as a middle and she did a great job, but we quickly realized we needed her as a passer.  In our first Mandatory Leya played outside hitter.  She led our team in passing and also delivered as a hitter.  Her tenacious defense made it difficult for our opponents to put a ball away.  Leya is an extremely well rounded player who has great instincts and a high volleyball IQ.  Nice work Leya!!
Coach Curtis & Cory
Karly Reckerr

15-Bryan

The 15-Bryan's Player of the Month is:
                     Karly Recker

15-Bryan Player of the Month for March is Karly Recker!  Karly has a great attitude and has been a pleasure to coach.  She is one of our most improved passers and has really committed to making strong, early angles.  Along with her improvement with passing, she has learned to harness her powerful arm and has become one of our most consistent offensive players.  Karly has a bright future and Coach Brad and I are excited about Karly's potential.  Stay confident and keep up the great work Karly!   "Humble and Hungry!"

Coach Bryan & Brad
Josephine Yeh

15-Doug

The 15-Doug's Player of the Month is:
                         Josephine Yeh

I would like to nominate Josephine Yeh as Player of the Month.  Jo has had an explosive month with fabulous kills that fire up the team.  When Jo has a good game, the team has a good game.  She is a good leader, a diplomat, and a motivator (not to mention her hops are unbelievable!). She is a fierce competitor with great sportsmanship.  Jo is consistently executing the game plan and represents Tstreet well!

Coach Doug
Sydney Arcemont

15-Mark

The 15-Mark's Player of the Month is:
               Sydney Arcemont

My Player of the Month for March is Sydney Arcemont.  Although she is new to the world of volleyball, she has become a vital member of my team.  She always brings positive energy on and off the court and is always ready to develop her skills.  She unfortunately had to miss 3 weeks of practices and tournaments due to appendicitis, but she came back even more eager and ready to learn.  Sydney has never used any excuses and always responds well to new ideas.  I am extremely lucky to have Sydney on my team, and I know the rest of my team feels the same way.

Coach Mark
Marina Istaphanous

15-Tim

The 15-Tim's Player of the Month is:
                Marina Istaphanous

Marina Istaphanous is my March Player of the Month.  Marina has a wonderful attitude and shows fantastic effort on a daily basis.  She is encouraging to all of her teammates and is as selfless unselfish as can be.  She tries to improve daily and her court awareness and platform improve all the time.  She is proud to be a teammate.  Congratulations!

Coach Tim
Courtney Buzzerio

16-Mike

The 16-Mike's Player of the Month is:
                  Courtney Buzzerio

The Tstreet 16-Mike Player of the Month for March is Courtney Buzzerio.  Courtney has emerged as a reliable 6- rotation player for our team as a setter/opposite.  She has come up with big swings and blocks for us in big moments in Mandatory 1. She is learning to breathe, believe and battle on the court and she's developing into a better quarterback.  This month I have watched Courtney work through some challenges with the hope of becoming more consistent, more composed and a player who trusts her gifts.  She is a joy to coach and always brings out the joy in those around her.  She loves to smile after big plays and celebrate with the team.  Courtney-- stay steadfast in your pursuit of who you are destined to become!

Coach Mike & Carson
Alyssa Sukow

16-Kindra
The 16-Kindra's Player of the Month is:
       Alyssa Sukow

I would like to nominate Alyssa Sukow for March's Player of the Month.  Alyssa has been making substantial improvements in her volleyball game. Blocking has been a huge area of improvement.   At the Windy Cindy qualifier Alyssa ended the tournament with 8 blocks against teams that finished in the top 10 of the tournament.  I am very proud of your work ethic and eagerness to get better!  Keep pushing yourself to new levels!   BBB

Coach Kindra & Jess
Daphne Kirsch

16-Minier

The 16-Minier's Player of the Month is:
Daphne Kirsch

My tstreet Player of the Month nominee for March is Daphne Kirsch.  Daphne struggled with injuries the past couple of years at Tstreet which kept her from playing and performing at her best when she was able to play.  She came into this year with the idea of staying healthy and rebuilding her game.  Through hard work and determination she has become a dominant player and an important part of our team.  As an outside hitter she leads the team in kills, kill percentage, and aces. She is an all around player who passes, plays defense, and hits pipes for us as well.  Daphne is a very skilled and focused athlete that wants to continue to be pushed to improve her game.  She leads the team by example with her work ethic in practice and dedication to improving not only her game but the overall team.  I am confident that with Daphne leading the way this team is going to have some great wins and continue to move up the rest of the season.

Coach Mike
Paige Baskovich

16-Brett

The 16-Brett's Player of the Month is:
                    Paige Baskovich

Paige Baskovich is my Player of the Month for March. She is a very hard worker on the court.  You can always rely on her to give her best.  Paige has shown great development this year with her attacking, making her more consistent and more aggressive.  Her passing has shown tremendous growth, making her a well rounded player.  Plus her height at the net makes her a force as well.  She always brings great effort and focus to everything she does and I couldn't be prouder of her.  Keep it up Paige!

Coach Brett
Destiny Hoke

16-Vince

The 16-Vince's Player of the Month is:
                    Destiny Hoke

Our Player of the Month nominee for March is Destiny Hoke.  Destiny is an awesome young lady.  As a coach, I always know what I am going to get from her on the court on a daily basis.  Destiny gives consistent effort, has a positive attitude, listens intently, and encourages her teammates.  It would be easy for anyone to take a day off from any or all of these skills, but Destiny brings them every time she walks through the Tstreet door. Through all of these intangibles, Destiny has improved her volleyball skills tremendously.  Her passing and hitting have improved since the beginning of the season particularly, and she has scored a lot of points for us from the service line.  She has proven to be one of our more consistent players, and have full faith when she is on the floor.  Keep up the great work Destiny, both as a player and as a person!

Coach Vince
Madi Mercer

17-Colton

The 17-Colton's Player of the Month is:
                     Madi Mercer

The 17-Colton Player of the Month for March is Madi Mercer!  Both Taylor and I have been very impressed with her recent offensive surge and her poise on the court.  Madi has become a first option for our offense and does an excellent job seeing the block and making the right swing.  She has great range and has been racking up kills.  Her attack numbers have been exceptional, especially in clutch moments. During the San Diego Mandatory 2 playoffs against Forza1 18-Red and Mavericks 18-Black, Madi had 3 kills, hitting .750 and 5 kills with 0 errors, hitting a perfect 1.000.  This has helped our team win the one-set playoffs and achieve the 9th place spot in the 18 under division of the SCVA.  Madi has been continually working to make herself and her team better, and we are thankful for your efforts and your spirit.

Coach Colton  and Taylor

Jade Anderson

17-Naseri

The 17-Naseri's Player of the Month is:
                    Jade Anderson

My nomination for Player of the Month is Jade Anderson.  It's not very often that a player receives a Club wide coaches endorsement at Tstreet but Jade did.  I now understand why.  Jade is our resident utility athlete, Jade has played four out of the five positions on the floor and played them WELL.  Jade is an absolute stud on the court, she raises the level of play in the gym and makes her teammates better.  Jade is soft spoken but a fierce competitor, she never shies away from competition and executes under pressure.  One of my favorite practice memories this season is Jade taking the time to walk across the court to offer a few words of encouragement to a teammate.  Immediately after this exchange, her team proceeded to dismantle the opposing side which the coaches played on.  Early into our season I asked Jade what position she was most comfortable playing?  She responded with a smiling laugh, "I can play anything you need me to play."  I've asked this question to athletes in the past with similar answers but none responded with much promise. This level of maturity speaks to Jade's selflessness and her never ending commitment to the team.  Thank you Jade for the wonderful reminder this experience is about the team and working together.

Coach Naseri

Jamie Robbins

18-Shawn

The 18-Shawn's Player of the Month is:
                  Jamie Robbins

18-Shawn would like to nominate Jamie Robbins as the March Player of the Month.  Jamie is an athletic lefty with a quick arm.  She has the ability to hit from different areas of the court, which helps open up our offense.  She adjusts well to different situations, which occur on the court to help her team win.  Jamie absorbs feedback from coaches well and is always eager to improve her game.  Over the past few months, we have watched Jamie improve tremendously on her ball control and blocking.  Her focus at practice has been undeniable and it's been a joy to watch her develop.  As a teammate, Jamie is very supportive.  She celebrates each and every success of her teammates.  We look forward to coaching Jamie and watching her flourish as a Bruin.

Coach Shawn, Christina & Mitzi

Aleya Post

18-Randy

The 18-Randy's Player of the Month is:
                      Aleya Post

The Player of the Month for 18-Randy is Aleya Post. Aleya is a a big reason why our team continues to experience such success.  Aleya contributes to the team in three positions - middle blocker, opposite setter and outside hitter.  She's led our team in various categories (blocking and hitting) in multiple tournaments including the Las Vegas Showcase and multiple SCVA events.  Aleya is also team player and always wants what's best for others.  I've heard her say, "I do not have a problem sitting out so that other can play and be seen by recruiters." And what's even more amazing about her is that she is only 15 years old and plays for an 18U team.  She considers Tstreet her "home and would never play anywhere else." I couldn't ask for a better team member ... or daughter.  Congratulations Aleya - well deserved

Coach Randy & Alicia

Emily Keiser

18-Dawn

The 18-Dawn's Player of the Month is:
Emily Keiser

My Player of the Month for March is Emily Keiser.  Emily is the ultimate competitor.  She works very hard on and off the court to get herself and her team better.  What has impressed me the most in the past month is her desire to improve on defense.  During our last tournament, she chased down an erratic ball and we ultimately won the rally.  Her amazing defense was so impressive.  As one of our setters she has led our team with her setting, key digs, big kills and incredible serving.  Emily, I'm very proud of your focus, leadership and growth this season.
Coach Dawn

                       Lauren Hoffman

This month's Player of the Month is Lauren Hoffman. Lauren always comes into the gym with a smile on her face and a willingness to learn.  Lauren's serve has improved tremendously even to the point where she is picking spots on the court to serve to with plenty of power.  Her platform is also getting stronger after every practice.  Lauren has improved her hitting approach to the point where she is getting comfortable to jump and swing with power when she gets a good set.  Lauren has been awesome to coach and has a bright future!  Keep up the great work Lo!  "Effort and Attitude"

You have a bright future in front of you!  You are such a blessing to have on the team!

                       Hayley Moreen

Annie Tang

Tween 14-Morgan

The Tween 14-Morgan's Player of the Month is:
                           Annie Tang

My Player of the Month is Annie Tang.  Annie has improved by leaps and bounds throughout the season.  She is laser focused during practices and tournaments and never ceases to amaze me with her dedication to the game.  It is clear that she works hard on and even off the court to perfect her skills.  She sets a great example for the other girls on the team and I am so happy at the opportunity to continue to help her grow as a player.  Keep working hard!

Coach Morgan

Judith Burke

Tween Yorba Linda

The Tween Yorba Linda's Player of the Month is:
                          Judith Burke

Yorba Linda Tween's Player of the Month is Judith Burke.  Judith has been a member of the Yorba Linda Tweens since she was eight years old.  She came with the heart of a lion and had never played the game before.  We could easily see that she as was an athlete that listened to every word that come from her coaches and she tried to present those skills at practice as best she could.  She came to us as a retired gymnast with an illustrious career even at the age of eight. She brought with her the qualities of an elite gymnast which are also applicable to great volleyball players: Desire, Strength, Speed, Enjoyment, and Positive Emotional Characteristics.  She is wonderful to have on and off the court and for a petite girl she is full of strength and energy to help her succeed at challenging drills and competition.  We've seen arrant balls that have raced outside the court only to be chased down by Judith and get launched right back into play to the other side.  Keep up your progress Judith, keep thinking those positive thoughts, and keep that wonderful smile and good humor.  You have come a long way since you first started and your future looks bright.
