2014 Trunk Scholarship Campaign is Underway! Please help achieve the SIOR Chicago Chapter's 2014 of underwriting 20 Trunk Scholarships to support the needs of first-year, inner-city college students who will embark on the start of their college education in the Fall term. This valuable program, sponsored by the Ada S. McKinley Community Services organization, provides a "trunk" of college room necessities to outfit a college student for what is likely their first experience living away from home. Without our support, these students and families would not be able to provide this essential platform to start college life on equal footing with their peers. We've been reaching out to membership over the past month and now we're in the home stretch - striving to meet our 2014 goal of underwriting 20 Trunk Scholarships. Each year, our support has grown beginning with our initial campaign in 2011 that resulted in the donation of 5 Trunks; a huge jump to 15 Trunks in 2012 followed by 16 Trunks in 2013. Please consider your corporate and/or personal donations to help support SIOR Chicago Chapter in this charitable endeavor. Kindly submit your Pledge Form by Friday, May 30, 2014 for a Full Trunk Scholarship at $500 or a partial contribution to help achieve our goals. Payments can be submitted up to June 15th. To all who have supported us this year and in the past, we thank you for your generosity and for recognizing that SIOR members contribute more than just professional business expertise - our members impact the educational opportunities that bring forward successful members of our future society. Watch your Inbox for more detailed updates, Pledge Forms and the status of the achievement of our 2014 goals. |
