"What do I have to do, be or have in order to keep growing?"
Sometimes the key is not in finding asnwers, but in asking the right questions.
This week I pose 5 questions that could change your life.

here 5 Questions that Could Change Your Life |
Dreams are today's answers to tomorrow's
questions - Edgar Cayce
1. If you could create the ideal life for yourself, and there were no limits, what would it look like?
- 2. What would you have to believe differently in order to create this life?
- 3. What do you need to do to get there, and who can support you?
4. What is holding you back?
5. What will you do differently, starting today, to get you moving towards the ideal life you desire?
What would your ideal life look like?
This is about your vision. Many people know what they don't want, but do not have as clear a vision of what they do want.
Awareness is a good start, and if you are struggling to picture where you want to be, try this:
Draw two lines from the top to the bottom of a sheet of paper to create 3 columns. In the first, list all the things you don't like about your life today in one column on a sheet of paper. In the next column develop this list by listing more specifically what you don't like.
In the last column rewrite the things you have listed in the second column positively.
For example:
I don't like |
Because |
The ideal |
My job |
It doesn't pay enough |
It pays enough |
|
It is boring |
It is interesting |
My health |
I am sickly |
I am healthy |
My house |
It is too small |
It is big enough |
|
It is too big |
It is just right |
The description in column 3 is what you desire, and you may develop this even further to fill in details, like what is 'enough pay'?, what is 'interesting'? What is 'healthy' to you?
Doing this exercise can help you clarify what you want. And having your 'picture of success', or your vision helps you focus on what needs doing in order to get there.
This picture is not static, as what you want today may change tomorrow, as a result of life transitions, like marriage, having a baby, losing a loved one, or moving to a new region. These happenings can lead to different priorities, or even have you question the values on which you based your earlier vision. Sometimes you just outgrow certain desires.
Changes may be gradual or more sudden. Whatever the case, when you recognise that something has changed, you can always revisit your idea of an ideal life.
We will look at the other questions in subsequent issues.

This is a program for men and women who are generally successful, but who are not fulfilled. It is for people who wake up in the morning and wonder if there is more to life than 'this'. It is for people who want to find more meaning in their lives.
These men and women know they are stuck, yet they feel powerless to make the change they need. They need help to take the first step to living the life they really want.
'Step Beyond Your Barriers' will show you how to
- Identify where you are in your life now
- Articulate where you want to be
- Acknowledge barriers that hold you back
- Plan to overcome those barriers
At the end of this program you will have developed your vision of success with fulfillment, and you will have the confidence to pursue that vision.
