Superintendent Search

Mindful that no decision by the Board of Education is more important to Kenston's success than choosing a superintendent, the Kenston Board of Education has retained the services of an independent agency. 'Finding Leaders' will provide consulting in connection with the effort to fill Dr. Robert A. Lee's vacancy. The process has begun. The posting is throughout Ohio.

In the coming weeks, Finding Leaders will consult with staff, students and community groups to determine the qualifications and characteristics desired of the new leader.

After the March 12 deadline, Finding Leaders, armed with stakeholders' suggestions, will interview potential candidates and report to the board.

On April 1 and 2, the Board of Education will interview the semi-finalists. Later in April, a chosen group of Kenston's community will interview the final two candidates. By May 1, the Board of Education will have selected Kenston's new superintendent.

Possible Delayed Start
With the severe weather that we have experienced in Northeast Ohio this year, Kenston may implement a "One or Two Hour Delayed Start."  A delayed start will only be used if the weather forecast indicates that the current weather conditions will improve soon after school opens and it is safe to transport students.  Staff is expected to report as close to regular time as possible.  With a delayed start, dismissal is at the regular time.

If you are uncertain about school closings, you can call 440-564-2134 for up-to-date information.  This message is updated by 6:30am when conditions warrant.
