Excellent Again!
For the 12th consecutive year, Kenston has earned an "Excellent" rating and a "Perfect" score on the State Report Card. We are one of only a handful of districts that can boast of this achievement. Once again, our Performance Index increased to 108.2 placing us in the top 5% in the state.
What is the Performance Index?
The performance index rewards the achievement of every student, not just those who score proficient or higher. All assessments have five performance levels which include: advanced, accelerated, proficient, basic and limited. The percentage of students scoring at each performance level is calculated and then multiplied by the point value assigned to that performance level.

2012 National Merit Semi-Finalist and Commended Scholars
Four Kenston High School students have been recognized by the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program. This distinction signifies these students as part of a select group of high school seniors in the country. Commended students are Drew Bailey, Bob Craig and Alan Tatro. Semi-finalist is Lindsay Cook. The National Merit Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

Auditor Award with Distinction
Kenston's most recent financial audit by Auditor of State Dave Yost's office returned a clean report. The district's excellent recordkeeping has earned it the Auditor of State Award with Distinction. To earn a "clean" audit report and receive an award, school districts must file timely financial reports in the form of a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report; the audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Single Audit findings or questioned costs; and the management letter contains no comments related to Ethics referrals, questioned costs less than $10,000, findings for recovery less than $100 and public records or meetings.
