Welcome to
First United Methodist Church
of Michigan City
Greetings!
Brothers and Sisters of the great Tribe of First UMC, this Sunday we end our Halaka with Yohannon (Walking with John) as we read 3 John and hear the Apostle's final words for our walk. I have enjoyed preaching this series and have discovered a lot. I pray you have as well.
This Sunday is also "Dads and Grads" Sunday. Between the two services, we will be having a special reception to honor all our Dads and Grads of 2012. During the first service, our Grads from 1st UMC will be honored and recognized and our Scholarship Committee will be presenting our college scholarships to those well deserved persons who have earned them.
Also, this will be the last Sunday that our Interim First Lady, Andrea, will be with us. She will be flying to Jamaica for her brothers funeral later that week and gone during my last Sunday here at Michigan City. She has enjoyed your love and warmth and wanted me to tell everyone know that she felt welcomed and embraced as a Christian Sister and she holds you all in very high esteem. She says she will especially miss the WOW Sunday School class where she was made to feel right at home from the first day. Keep her and her family in Jamaica in your prayers during this coming week as they bury their beloved son and brother who was just 39 when the assassin's bullets ended his life.
Also, continue to keep all our recovering surgery folks in your prayers as they continue to heal and grow back to health.
The new First UMC Pastor is coming soon, and very soon all of our preparations and prayers should make a great welcome for her. Remember: The Best Is Yet To Come! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Pastor Larry

Let's welcome Pastor Gwen Roberts and church visitors by wearing our name tags. Name tags are a "Yes" to visitors and guests that God sends our way to minister to. We wear name tags because the church of the Christ is not about its members, but about those who have not yet become members.
It is a great and holy habit to get into each and every Sunday.

On Sunday, June 24, at 12:00 p.m.,
we will be honoring
Pastor Larry and Andrea
with a potluck.
Please plan on attending!
