Weekly Blurb

Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for Transformation of the World

Welcome to

First United Methodist Church

of Michigan City

Greetings!

This Sunday, we continue to Halaka!

We'll walk into the 2 book of John.  Just one 13 verse chapter.  It has some important things to say directly to us. Come and let us celebrate His Word and worship Him whom loves us dearly.

Also during both services we will celebrate Marriage! Persons will be given the opportunity to renew their vows as June is the month of weddings (no matter what month you got married.)

We will also count up the years of marriage in First UMC and see how many we collective have under our belts.   What do you think the number is?  1,000 years?  Maybe!  We will find out come Sunday.  So bring your bride or groom (only one each please) and let's celebrate the institution God ordained at creation.

See you Sunday as we worship Him who is for us.

Until then, blessings and peace, Pastor Larry

Potluck

On Sunday, June 24, at 12:00 p.m.,

we will be honoring

Pastor Larry and Andrea

with a potluck.

Please plan on attending!

Renewing Wedding VowsRenew Wedding Vows

Pastor Larry will be inviting married couples to renew their wedding vows on Sunday, June 10th at both the 8:15 and 10:45 service.  No matter what month you were married in join in the meaningful rite of renewing your vows with your fellow church members.

Attention: High School Graduates

Please call the church office with your full name.  We will be making plans for the graduation service and will announce more details as they become available.

Scrip Fund Raiser

June brings graduation for many folks and the question what should I get that graduate or what do they need.   Or Father's Day is just around the corner and what Dad doesn't like to go shopping for his favorite fishing gear, golf items, or clothing etc.  Why not stop and purchase a "Gift card" from our scrip program and help support our church.

Father's Day and Graduates Day are both on Sunday, June 17

If we don't have the scrip in stock we can order it and have it within a couple days.

We will be selling scrip cards the first and third Sunday of each month in the Narthex. 2nd & 3rd Sundays in June only.

Thanks to all of you loyal supporters and for those of you that haven't stopped to check the program please do stop by and say HI.

The youth confirmation class is looking for members to come talk to them about what it means to be a Christian, what it means to be a disciple, and what it means to be a Methodist.
