Welcome to
First United Methodist Church
of Michigan City
Greetings!
This Sunday is the Holy Day of Pentecost! Wear as much red as you can find to wear. Red is the color of the day and season of Pentecost. It represents the flame and the Spirit and reminds us that God gave His Holy Torah to Israel this day, the Holy Spirit to the Church.
This is called, "The Birthday of the Church." The Risen Lord told his disciples to wait in Jerusalem for this ancient feast and, on that day, they "were all gathered together and the sounds of thunder and tongues of every language were heard."
The United Methodist use the red flame as a part of their identifying log as it stands next to the cross. It must remind us that the movement called Methodism was a Spirit filled movement that spread like fire and awakened the sleeping faith of many a human.
At MC First, we will be celebrating this Holy appointed feast by worshiping our God and wearing red and recalling His mighty deeds then and now as we launch into this new season of ministry in Michigan City.
Come! Worship and do best that you were created for in the first place; to worship and adore the One True God.
See you in Church. Pastor Larry

| Scrip News
June brings graduation for many folks and the question what should I get that graduate or what do they need. Or Father's Day is just around the corner and what Dad doesn't like to go shopping for his favorite fishing gear, golf items, or clothing etc. Why not stop and purchase a "Gift card" from our scrip program and help support our church.
Fathers Day and Graduates Day are both on Sunday, June 17.
If we don't have the scrip in stock we can order it and have it within a couple days. We will be selling scrip cards in the Narthex on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month (2nd and 3rd Sundays in June only).
Thanks to all of you loyal supporters and for those of you that haven't stopped to check the program please do stop by and say HI.
