Welcome to
First United Methodist Church
of Michigan City
Greetings!
This Sunday, we celebrate MOMS. We have a special program called "Pin-a-Sister" where all woman in attendance will be pinned with a pink ribbon as we stand in solidarity with breast cancer awareness. We have a special speaker who will be with us from the National Cancer Society. Our message for the day will be coming from our "Walk with John" as we look at 1 John 2.
MOMS day started out as a political movement by Mother's against war. The aim was to come together for a day and tell the world that they didn't want to send any more of their children off to war. It was a grass roots movement where Moms used their voices and influence to say something meaningful and significant to the world.
There is just one more instance when we should have listened to our mothers. Well, Moms, you still wield influence and power.
More on this on the coming Sunday. So tell all your kids to come with you to Church as we honor you and praise the Lord as we seek to follow Him as disciples.
Pastor Larry
